The bonfire's got the word "job" in it, so the primitives are avoiding it like the plague.

Original message

things are starting to look up a bit

i've been out of work since last march. i felt like i was railroaded out of that job (i'm sure the fact that i spent three days in a psych ward had something to do with it) and it's been a helluva blow to my self esteem.

but i had one interview last week and another one early next week. even if i don't get either job, it's boosting my confidence, something i haven't had in a long, long time.

Well, that's it, onward and upward, and one wishes the fizziwig primitive well.

This was Thursday, last night at 9:37.  Fizz has only one reply.  That's shameful.  This is a time a person needs moral support, if even just on a message board, because one has to have self-confidence in an interview.  They should be rallying around their compadre, but no.  It's a job.

It has that dread word in it, "job."

Primitives don't like that word.

But at any rate, from this side, the real world, you go, fizziwig primitive!

Now if he had some sexual issue or nervous breakdown of some kind they would be all over this thread because they can all relate to that. A job interview on the other hand is "greek" to most primitives.

Sometimes they like the word job, if its in conjunction with blow but only if it involves 2 guys.  :-)

But, they have to be the one doing the "job."

5. i think the job i'm interviewing for would be a good one for me
it's with the cat rescue in my town. not high paying, but i think i would actually feel like i was doing something important.

i was a newspaper reporter for five years, but given my experience at the paper and the state of the industry in general, i think i'm done with that field. i've been trying to get my foot in with a nonprofit for sometime and this would be a good opportunity to get my foot in the door.

i work in an outbound market research/polling call center and that job sucks beyond words, but at least it helps pay the bills.

So he HAS a job. He just hates it.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

If "blow", "hand", or "con" preceded "job", a DUmmie would be interested....

"Real", "decent", "actual", or "get a" before "job" is a real turn off for them....

IF she gets the job, BIG IF, I doubt she lasts 2 weeks.

Between the pharmaceutical use and her depression  :whatever:, it's unlikely any employer will put up with her not showing up for work.

At 28, single, childless, you should be a happy person. They wallow in self pity over there.  Take out the piercings, cover the tattoos, brush your hair and teeth, put on some decent clothes and go out into the world.  Life is beautiful if you make it that way.

Quite the newspaper reporter you are. It's a shame that the shift key on your keyboard is broken. Otherwise, you would probably score something better than reporting on the sanitation department's monthly meeting and/or 'human interest' pieces such as 'local man saves cat from a tree'

Only three days in a psyche ward?!?!? That is a record for 90% of the anus-launched monkeys on the DUmp. As far as your imaginary self-esteem goes, one has to have at lease one redeeming character trait to have ANY self-esteem. A pile of hot steaming dog shit has more socially redeeming qualities than ANY member of the DUmp.

I wonder if this cat rescue "job" pays anything at all, as in anything.  I worked on the dog rescue side of things and it was pure volunteer labor.  A wonderful experience, yes.  Bill-paying, no.   Oh, and man, are they ever rigorous in interviewing you and weeding out the undesireables.  These animal people do not tolerate crazy, incompetent, or weird people in any way.  They protect their charges as if they were their own children.
