Southern Hospitality
« on: May 04, 2009, 01:48:08 PM »

A very genteel Southern lady was driving across the Savannah River Bridge in Georgia one day. As she neared the top of the bridge, she noticed a young man fixin' to (getting ready to) jump.

She stopped her car, rolled down the window and said, "Please, don't jump; think of your dear mother and father."

He replied, "Mom and Dad are both dead; I'm going to jump."

She said, "Well, think of your wife and children."

He replied, "I'm not married and I don't have any kids."

She said, "Well, think of Robert E. Lee"

He replied, "Who's Robert E. Lee?"

She replied, "Well, bless your heart, just go ahead and jump, you dumb-ass Yankee."

Ah, save the South, shoot a Yankee.

Or as I saw during my days in Atlanta, "Welcome to Georgia.  Now go back to New York."

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I don't know if I've mentioned my favorite Florida bumper sticker here before.
