I took yesterday off work to head down to the Tea Party protest in Indianapolis. It was a trek, 2.5 hours each way, but it was ever so worth it. It was cool (47 or so) and over cast but we didn't get any rain which was good.
We arrived just minutes (due to non-stop road construction) before the event was to start, but thankfully they held off on the kick-off for an extra 30 minutes. The volume of people streaming into downtown Indy was absolutely staggering!
Estimates were that 8,000 would attend. We hit that number I believe, if not many more. The whole downtown area was packed.
Here's a picture of the Capital steps taken right after our arrival.

Things were just getting started, you would still easily move around. That quickly changed.
By the time we had our opening prayer, you could barely move around.

It was a peaceful, well organized and fun event. I would say most people there were with family. Lots of kids, grandparents, husband & wife groups. Lots of college kids and couples. It was a great events by all counts.
Here are a few more pics.
