Obama looking at cooling air to fight warming

WASHINGTON – The president's new science adviser said that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing drastic options to cool Earth's air.
John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort.
As he put it: "It's got to be looked at. We don't have the luxury of taking any approach off the table."
Huh?  This was the whole story.

If this had been a week earlier, I'd have thought it was an April Fool's joke, maybe. How stupid do these people have to be to consider doing something like this? :banghead: Let's just seed the atmosphere with aluminum foil and reflect all that light away.

So we're going to put a cap and trade on pollution emmissions to stop global warming...  and then shoot pollution into the atmposphere to stop global warming.

How do their heads keep on straight with so much spin?

I guess the CLEAN AIR ACT, after being implemented, worked TOO WELL.  The atmosphere is so clean now, that more of the sun's rays are reaching the planet's surface than before they cleaned up the air.

Whatever happened to the hole in the ozone?

What many seem to ignore is that that hole in the ozone was part of a natural process of this planet.

The ice at the polar ice caps are the last remnants of the LAST ICE AGE.  At one time, millions of years ago, the current north pole was just like the everglades in florida and there wasn't an ice cap.
