Maybe I'll cook some spotted owl over a coal fire.   :fuelfire:
Meanwhile every light in the house will be on and all the faucets will be running hot water.
Dinner will be served on styrofoam dishes and with plastic utensils.

The office moonbats are all in a lather about it.  They've been running around putting up little posters to try to get all of us to "save the planet".   :whatever:

Rush Limbaugh just had a segment blasting Earth hour, and he's going to light up HIS ENTIRE ESTATE for that hour. Guess I can call it, huh??

Celebrate Human Achievement Hour Tonight!

I had already planned to turn on all of my energy-wasting lights and appliances tonight. I'm glad other people are doing the same too.

They have even put a name to the counter-movement: Human Achievement Hour.

Earth Day is about over here in California. What is funny is that, as a normal rule, I'm very frugal with my energy usage during the month, turning off unneeded lights and opening windows in hot weather rather than turn on the AC. In short, I am an energy conversationalist because I am a capitalist, and don't wish to spend unneeded capital for reasons of laziness.

I turned on every light in the house...all two stories. IN addition, I had obtained some photography lights from a friend and turned them on in my house and shone them out of the window onto the street. Believe me, at 900 watts those suckers are VERY bright!. Finally, I started all three of my vehicles and let them idle for an hour, making sure all of THEIR lights were on. So it ended up my house was the only one on our block with all the lights on.

I did get a bunch of people to come over, and I mentioned that I was CELEBRATING man's INVENTIVENESS due to the fact of free, unadulterated capitalism and scientific achievement.  Many were angry, but could do nothing. All in all, it was very successful.

Well, nine thirty. Time to turn the lights off an revert to being frugal again.

Earth Hour claims a victim...
Quote
A Mississauga family who tried to light a candle for Earth Hour nearly burned their Meadowvale townhouse down.

“She was lighting up the candle and we thought it didn’t light up or the match fell somewhere that we didn’t notice and then we left,” said Ms. Khalid. The family was going to see friends and when getting ready, they lighted scented candles so they could see.

Platoon Chief Paul Hunter of the Mississauga Fire Department said the fire caused an estimated $15,000 damage.

Well shit, I missed it. Must have been while I was mowing the lawn and then BBQing a big ol' fat steak.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

I will have to be satisfied with running the AC at "Freezer" setting all day, while I was outside playing with petrol powered toys. Even used one of them to cut down brutally murder a tree.

Then did a big roast bird with all the sides.

I hope my contribution was sufficient to at least compete in this great event.  :-)

Did you at least have the common courtesy of hugging that tree before you murdered it?
