Economic Crisis?
« on: February 25, 2009, 12:04:51 AM »
Does it really exist?

Why are the parking lots of the local malls in my area still full on the weekends?

Why are the parking lots of the local movie theaters also still full on the weekends?

Why did I have to wait 15 minutes for a table at the local mid priced steak house on Sunday afternoon?

When folks are in true economic crisis, don't they attempt to reduce spending?

I'm not seeing that where I live.

Is the crisis perhaps a lot less profound than the President and the Dem controlled congress would has us believe?

Inquiring minds want to know.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." --Norman Thomas, 1944

The indicators you're seeing are correct.  High traffic at the mall/restaurants indicates people spending money.  What you're seeing though is the 97% of Americans mostly responsible enough to live within their means, not the 3% who ****ed it up for everyone else.
