Scrumdiliumptious Saturday!
« on: February 21, 2009, 09:34:40 AM »
Yesterday I got home from work and On Demanded the movie "Burn After Reading."  I fell asleep about 30 minutes into it and didn't wake up until my alarm went off this morning. (:loser:) At least I'm very rested today.

Anywho, so I'm at the real estate office.  I brought in my exciting accounting stuff to work on.  I have final exams Monday and Tuesday.  I'm going to work on accounting today and economics stuff tomorrow while I'm here.

It's a little cloudy outside and windy!  It's a tad colder than it appears too.  I can still manage to swing the flip flops, but I had to wear a little cardigan sweater over my tshirt today.  :)

I made a big batch of real farina hot cereal this morning with molasses, whole flax seed and brown sugar and honey.

It went down well because with the SIX FREAKING INCHES OF NEW SNOW outside everybody needed inner warmth.

I stumbled on this brand line at the grocery store, Bob's Red Mill grains and cereals.

They do whole grains, seeds and some mixes for baking.

The Steel Cut Irish Oats are to die for when you do them in the crock pot over night.

For anyone that likes cooking with real ingredients they are a winner.

I've done overnight oatmeal in the crock pot with steel cut oats a few times.  Always yummy.  My favorite was when I made them with some dried apple and cinnamon.  Plus, you wake up to a delicious smelling house.

Slept in late, watched some TV, and knocking back a few beers.  I have slowly started chipping away at the boxes I still have stacked randomly around the apartment and started re-boxing things I'm not using.  I think I'm going to do hamburgers for dinner because I'm not really in the mood to prep a whole chicken for roasting.

I passed a 240/260/280z on the road yesterday.  My car may be the bastard stepchild of the early Z cars, but it was kinda cool.

Moo Goo, Crispy Sesemee Chicken and Beef with Brocolli tonight.  Plus the usual crab rangoons, wontons and meats on a stick.

The recipe I had for sesame chicken was identical to the General Tso's recipe, with the exception of the hot peppers.

Burgers and fries again, but this time I have ketchup.

Home from work.  Kind of upset, because a friend of mine removed themselves from my friends' list on Facebook... they won't answer my messages as to why they did it.  Absolutely clueless as to what did it, since we were getting along fine.  Oh well, the people who remain are still the better friends, anyway.   :cheersmate:

Time to open a beer and relax now. ;)

I have a 7 year old who doesn't handle the peppers well but loves everything else.

1 cup of rice wine, 1 cup of rice vinegar, half a cup of sugar, and some grated ginger, heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.  I usually pick out the hot peppers in my General Tso's... the Chinese carryout place uses whole dried peppers instead of flakes, so its not really hot unless you actually eat one.

It's a good brand. I just got a bag of the ground flax seed (same brand) at Whole Foods today. Couldn't believe at the local grocery store that bag was $3.99, but only $2.39 at Whole Foods.

I love the food at Whole Foods, but today was just another normal day there. The parking lot was a sea of cars with Obama bumper stickers still on the car. Plus there were the usual DU type lib bumper stickers accompanying the Annointed One's.

I went there after going with SR to the dentist. I told him to call me when he was ready to be picked up. We thought that having the wisdom tooth pulled would be horrendous. We should have known better. Our dentist is very skilled. He's doing fine and ended up driving home.

It's been a quiet day here.

I sympathize with him.  I would rather have teeth pulled out then have to shop with those folks. :-)

We just finished a Shrekathon here a while ago.

I watched all three movies with the Mancub today.

I worked. It was busy.

A critical piece of equipment kept breaking down. Good thing I was there, the other two co-workers had no clue. One person thought she had fixed it, but messed it up even more. If I would of been wearing long sleeves, I would of had to roll them up. I did get my tie dirty.

A couple customers started to get pretty crappy with a female co-worker. Her & I are pretty close, and I end up going into protection mode. I was starting to get really pissed for a couple seconds. In fact, she is the only co-worker that I have a relationship with outside of work, so it was even harder on me.

Went out to dinner after work and seen some local live music. It was ok.

I work Sunday. Hopefully nothing breaks.
