It's like they are stalking an ex-lover.

I think they miss him terribly.  When Bush was president, they didn't like anything the government was doing, they were miserable and they had someone to blame their misery on.   They had someone to vent their anger on.

Now they are still just as angry and miserable, but they can't blame the government or the president.  It's going to get harder and harder for them the further we get, in time, away from the Bush administration.

They won`t allow themselves to,he is the diversion that they need in their simple minds to push away the reality of their own failures and worthlessness.

If it wasn`t him then something else would have to be the imagined symbol of how "unfair" life and everything has been to them and that because of it they just can`t ever be held responsible for the outcomes they have chosen.
