I have done all I can -- I have voted, I have cajoled, I have pointed out how bad them messiahnfuhrer will be.

Like when I turned in my test in college, I was done. I learned then once the test is turned in worry and anxiety accomplish nothing.

The same is true now. l

No local radio.  No FNN.  No Rush. No Hannity.  No Savage.  Oh wait, that is a rule I already have.  I will mute all newsbreaks or just watch Bravo or somesuch TV that doesn't have them.  I can't even find solace in Nick at Night -- they have election themed crap on.

I won't be reading nor posting to any political threads on this or any other board.

I am burned out.  My hackles raise whenever I see "DECISION 2008" or somesuch on TV.  It doesn't even have to be a messiahnfuhrer commercial.  McCain commercials also get mr pissed off (in a different way).  I just yell at the TV or radio "I AM TIRED OF HEARING IT!!!"

I know this sounds a bit like a DUmmy rant, but the difference mine is non-ideological.

How many of you feel the same?

Well done and a wise choice.

I myself could not do that if I wanted too, lol. My sanity will be put at risk for perhaps 24 hours on that day. After that, come what may. Life goes on.

Yes, indeed.  I have RL responses to either scenario.  I will be OK.  I think that should the worst happen, we as a nation will be OK, since it will take a very short time for the backlash to the messiahnfuhrer's policies to happen.  karter gave us Reagen, so shall the messiahnfuhrer give us Palin, Jindal or Steele.

But I am hoping we have a rosier scenario.

As a Bonus, and IMHO, McCain would also give us a Palin, Jindal or Steele. (through the same but slightly less painful means)  :-)

America will survive both and be stronger for it.

I'm on a roll agreeing with you. The worst won't be through the day though and that's usually my weak point when I have more time to check online here. Thankfully, my kids are all home from school, my oldest has a pretty involved dental appt mid morning, I have schoolwork that is due today and a test to study for that I take tmrw, and of course I'll be in the gym later tnight so I won't even have such a temptation until later in the evening at which time I'll be exhausted anyway. I have a knack for redirecting my attention anymore so I have no worries I'll sleep with ease and see the results tomorrow.

I've told my wife that the PS2 will be getting a workout tonight.  Since that's also on the TV that we have digital cable on, that should take care of that.

I've got a social group meeting tonight that will eat up the evening until bedtime, if it wasn't for that I would've been playing videogames instead anyway.  But, Hell, I will probably turn on the TV for a few minutes before going to sleep anyway, just to see what's up.  Curiousity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back.

I think that's more than just a little passive-aggressive, but to each his own.  I plan on wallowing in election results and exit poll internals until the sun comes up. :-)

I'm probably somewhere halfway between the Wretch-Free Extremes.

If it starts going bad, I'm going to tune it out. If it's looking good, I'm going to bask. If it's a nail-biter, I'm going to tune it out.

God alone suffices.

Tonight TruTV (previously CourtTV) will be running a marathon of "Disorder in the Court."  These are real videos of people (usually but not always defendants) attacking other people.  They promise not to have any campaign coverage.

My night is booked!

I have been looking forward to this agonizing experience since the midterms, and no one is going to deprive me of a single second of torment. :-)

LOL!

I leave for my friend's house in 45 minutes and it's straight teevee and beer all night.  w00t!  It was agonizing being at work for a whole 4 hours where I'm not supposed to be online...I actually had to do work!

After I'm done catching up on the boards, it's off to catch up on Battlestar Galactica (the new version).  Got the 4-hour miniseries DVD from Netflix today.  Going to go through Seasons 1 and 2 as fast as I can.

I am starting to think my revulsion to Starbuck being a chick was too knee-jerk.

But I was in college when BG first ran so it was sort of sacrosanct.

But I hear tell it is pretty damn good.

Just a post in semi-solidarity with the OP.

After work and a leisurely dinner and some poking around, I have yet to dive into any politics today. I've heard a little news early but will not speak of it here. I've only opened the first beer of the night and am steeling myself up to the task. I shall linger in the lounge for a bit, as a child might linger on the high dive before jumping in.

At the moment the beer is cold, the breeze is cool comfort and it's a relatively quite city night. I feel good.

We are eating popcorn and watching Wild Wild West on dvd.  Well the rest of the family is watching it, I am glued to Fox online. :-)
