We all know that tonight Barack Obama will be elected President. And that has neocons quivering and snarling. I've seen message boards across the web polluted with comments about how the world is ending, America will be dead, they are lining up to buy ammunition (seriously!), etc. As usual the loyal McCain supporters insist we're deluded for not choosing the GOP, despite the fact their party has run the show for eight years and done an abysmal job at it, and they've run a pair of clowns too old, incompetent and stupid to possibly deserve election.

So I'd just like to say to the infuriated GOP loyalists right now:

You're NOT going to be driven underground to live in the sewers for the next four years.

You're NOT going to be deported.

You're NOT going to start contributing 50% or 75% or 90% of your paycheck for "socialist wealth redistribution."

You're NOT going to see your religion banned or outlawed.

You're NOT going to receive a visit from the Federal government asking you to hand in your guns.

You're NOT going to see the Russians/Chinese/Al Qaeda walking down Main Street in your town having "been handed the keys by Barack Obama" or some such drivel.

You're NOT going to see your children forced to marry blacks, turn gay, become Satanist, or any other insane nonsense.

You're NOT going to see abortionists in your children's schools looking for eager customers.

And in four years, when all these fears and terrors you have concerning President Obama fail to materialize, I hope you will have the guts and decency to admit you were wrong about him and vote for his re-election.

Now for my side, here's what I'm not going to see.

I'm NOT going to see my country continue to be looted and ruined by the failed economic policies of a failed political party.

I'm NOT going to see the rich pampered, praised and petted endlessly at the expense of everyone else because "they create jobs, so they're better than us!"

I'm NOT going to be told that as an agnostic, I am somehow un-American or "bad" for not being religious despite living in a nation touted so loudly for its freedoms (especially by those who seem unwilling to extend any freedom to anyone else)

I'm NOT going to be told I'm un-American or stupid for supporting politicians that actually care about the middle class and families like mine.

I'm NOT going to see endless war promoted by politicians who would be only too happy to throw my two sons into the fires of war in order to make a profit for themselves and their campaign contributors.

I'm NOT going to be lectured about how only white Republican redneck Christians are real Americans or are somehow better than me, a white Independent agnostic.

I'm NOT going to be told "there's no money for education, health care, cleaning up the environment or any of those wacko leftist causes, but there's ALWAYS plenty of money for Wall Street and the Pentagon!"

So I'll just go ahead and say "Thank you!" to Obama and Biden (and all who made their election possible) right now, for giving me the hope that things are actually going to turn out OK for this country and the future of my 3 kids (and their entire generation). Let's hope the rabid right can spend some time actually thinking things through for a change, but if they refuse to we can remain comforted they'll always be the tiny marginalized 20% that stubbornly remains completely outside of reality.

Try to find a good clean Norinco instead. Get about 100 stripper clips and that case of ammo. The SKS isn't the best there is, but, for the money, it'll do.
