Don't get blocked out of DU on election day! IMPORTANT! Please Read and Recommend! 
 Advertisements [?]It is almost certain that election day -- next Tuesday, November 4 -- will be the busiest day ever for Democratic Underground. To prepare for the high traffic, we have recently increased our total number of servers from four to six, and we have made a number of changes to our software. But there is still a good chance that these changes will not be enough to adequately handle the massive spike in traffic on election night. In the event that a massive influx of visitors to Democratic Underground overwhelms our servers and makes it impossible for anyone to access our website, we may be forced to take extraordinary measures to stay online. We may need to limit access to the website so only registered members may read and post -- leaving unregistered visitors blocked out. And in the worst-case scenario, we may have to limit access to donors only.

DON'T GET BLOCKED OUT! If you are not a registered member of DU, please register. If you are registered, make sure you know your DU password. And if you are a donor, make sure your donor status is up-to-date.

Are trhey tracking MAC addresses?  Even that seems not to be the case, since I used my other computer (my dusty old one).

Any ideas?  I have GOT to be a fly on the wall when their heads explode next Wednesday morning.

I'm under the impression that the DUmp is becoming a "good ol' boys club."  Anyone who either hasn't been around since the early days or who doesn't have an extremely high post count is automatically suspect.  If their every single post doesn't fall lockstep in with the ultra-left song and dance or if the poster doesn't shove his nose up the well-established crowd's collective butt, a granite pizza is ordered with guaranteed delivery in 30 minutes or less.

Do you use the same posting style?  Many members and Mods watch for new signups and follow them around for a time to see if a posting style fits with a previously TSd member.
