Fraudulent Votes Cast in New Mexico
Obama’s ACORN Must Be Shut Down Before Election, All Activities Investigated

(Albuquerque, NM) – Public records released in New Mexico today confirm that fraudulent voter registrations are in fact turning into fraudulent votes. ACORN, currently under investigation by the FBI, is now confirmed to be responsible for producing fraudulent voter registrations and illegal votes in New Mexico. An inspection of public records has revealed that illegal votes were cast in New Mexico’s 2008 primary election.

“This is a bombshell. We now have undeniable proof that a significant number of fraudulent voters were cast in Democrat primary races for the New Mexico state legislature as a result of ACORN’s voter registration fraud,” remarked State Representative Justine Fox Young (R-Albuquerque). “No longer can ACORN argue that their phony voter registration forms don’t translate into fraudulent votes. They do and today we can prove it.”

...

“It is safe to say that the number of illegal votes being cast dwarfs the 366 votes that decided the 2000 Presidential election in New Mexico,” said Nina Martinez, Secretary for the Republican Party of New Mexico. “Barack Obama contributed $832,000 to ACORN, organized an ACORN subsidiary, represented them as their attorney, trained some of their members and received ACORN’s endorsement. Obama should withdraw his financial support from ACORN and come clean about what he knows of their activities. Every fraudulent vote cancels out an honest vote. We must ensure the integrity of this year’s election.”

It's an emailed press release at the moment.

if only there were some way to show who the fraudulent votes went to.  Penalize the candidate for every fraudulent vote, say to the tune of 1000 votes forfeited for each fraud

There is.  Catch the fraudsters.  Ask them who they cast the votes for.

If you don't have to show proof of registration when you vote, then whats the point of registering?  And if you do have to show proof, wouldn't it tip someone off if you walked up there with a card that said Mickey Mouse on it?

Since coming of age to vote (funny, I entered active duty to defend the Constitution before I could even vote), I've only been able to vote absentee so I don't really know how it all goes down in person.

In my part of Ga as soon as I step in the door of the polling place the head woman in charge of the place calls out to me by name and ask how I've been doing. I've known her for about 25 years. When I get to her table, even though she knows me, she asks to see my driver's license which I gladly show because I have nothing to hide. She then puts a check mark by my name on the list. Then I vote.

So there is an actual list of registered voters that they check against?

Where I go there is. That's one reason I couldn't understand the outrage any time showing picture ID is mentioned. I've always had to do it, and they always look at my license and then look at the list. Maybe it's different elsewhere.

28 Out of 92 Cast Votes in NM Democratic Primary Appear Fake
« Reply #7 on: October 17, 2008, 06:17:43 PM »
Over at Tapped, A. Serwer, fresh off calling me a racist for saying that Gwen Ifill should not have moderated the debate because she didn't tell the Commission on Presidential Debates about her book on "The Age of Obama," declares that I am paranoid, too.

He writes, "there isn't a single instance of organized voter fraud that Geraghty can actually point to, despite being up in arms about it. That's "paranoia"."

Today, news out of New Mexico, the state GOP looked at information for 92 newly-registered voters in one district, and found 28 had "missing or inaccurate Social Security numbers or birth dates. In some cases, more than one voter was registered using the same Social Security number. In others, people who the Republicans said had no Social Security number on public record were registered." All of these are of individuals who have already cast ballots in the June New Mexico state legislative Democratic primary.

Now, unless A. Serwer thinks that there is actually a registered voter named "Duran Duran" in New Mexico, he ought to refrain from sputtering that those who disagree with him are 'racist' and 'paranoid.'

The person who is "Duran Duran" almost certainly voted under their real name, and thus got two votes in the primary. God knows how many of those 27 others exist; for all we know, one person might have cast all of them. Anybody who voted once had their vote diluted by the guy who cheated to vote two to twenty-seven times. (See below.)

Hey, guess who was out registering voters in this district before the primary? Aw, you saw this coming - ACORN. The same group running into legal troubles in thirteen other states. When you see the same issues coming up with the same group in fourteen different instances, how much more evidence do you need before you conclude that this is "organized voter fraud"?

Beyond that, Serwer deems local election officials as incapable of sorting out what to do when someone is purged erroneously from a voter roll. To these people, it's as if the "provisional ballot" was never invented. Most jurisdictions have their election results certified weeks after Election Day. If you're not on the roll, you fill out the provisional ballot and then demonstrate that you are who you say you are and that you should be on the roll. It gets sorted out, your vote counts. It isn't that hard and happens across the country all the time.
