3rd Presidential Debate: McCain's Last Chance
« on: October 09, 2008, 12:12:07 PM »
Obama is already setting the tone. If McCain won't mention Ayers in a debate and press home the attack despite Obama's absurd "I was only 8" defense McCain's last, biggest opportunity for turning the tide will be lost.

Quote
Why don't we just clear it up right now," Obama told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an exclusive interview for World News. "I'll repeat again what I've said many times. This is a guy who engaged in some despicable acts 40 years ago when I was eight years old. By the time I met him, 10 or 15 years ago, he was a college professor of education at the University of Illinois . . . And the notion that somehow he has been involved in my campaign, that he is an adviser of mine, that . . . I've 'palled around with a terrorist', all these statements are made simply to try to score cheap political points."

McCain's only hope:

McCain: Your associations with an unrepentent terrorist disqualify you from being Commander in Chief of our brave men and women during a war against terrorism.

Obama: I was eight at the time and he reformed.

McCain: He did not reform, he says he didn't do enough and you were well aware of his past or totally oblivious. How stupid do you think the American people are?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

That last question was just rhetorical...right?

I sure hope not.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

If almost 1/2 are willing to vote for a dilettante man-child with all of 144 days of experience and whose sole qualification is reading a teleprompter, then they are stupid indeed.

I want to see him tie the Fannie/Freddie mess to the dems starting with Clinton, running through Barney Frank's boi-friend and the dem stonewalling oversight over F&F including all his efforts to fix this.

I want to see him point out that Patraeus is working his magic with the border region Afghanis.

I want to see him rip up the lies regarding BHO's tax plans and paint the very ugly picture of what it would do to not just our economy but the world's.  And make damn sure to point out both BHO and Smokin Joe said flat out that none of that trillion in new spending would wait for anything and remind people that China and OPEC will be paying for that.

People need to know that an obama presidency would be devastating.

And while we're at it, point out that BHO used to work for ACORN and is now hiring them despite (or probably because of) their long history of voter fraud.

McCain needs to do a shock and awe on the economy. He need to attack Obama tax and spend policies and grind in the fact that he can save the economy while Obama will put us in a depression. McCain should tell the American people that their 401k might sink even further if Obama is elected. That they may never be able to retire. Impress on them that a Obama Presidency may shackle millions of citizens working well into their 80's. That increased taxes will cause people to lose millions of jobs.

McCain needs to talk in plain English and scare the hell out of the American voters. That's the only way he can win. All this fluff about Obama's associations, experience, war, terrorism, gay marriage, abortion, gun right, etc, etc, will not gain him many more Independent votes. The Economy is the key and if he does not slam Obama on it, he will have a hard time winning. Forget all that has happened in the past and hit Obama hard on the economy. Talk about the future; that's what people want to hear. Don't let it be a boring 90 min. which the media and Obama wants. This will knock the O off his game because he thinks that foreign policy is what McCain wants to talk about. McCain has to sway Independents to win; so everything that comes out of his mouth Wed. should be differentiating his economic plan to save the economy opposed to a melt down or depression under Obama.  This is not rocket science. He has to knock it out of the park.

I think it has been frustrating for the base to witness what looks like Bob Dole redux..... but I am beginning to think that there is some genius strategery here. I only hope they can pull it off. Their internals must be telling them that there is a vast mushy middle that must be appealed to and that appeal must be made in the last days before the election.

The next 4 weeks are going to be one rough ride for Obama. A $400M ad blitz by McCain is only one piece of this plan.

A girl can dream.....
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.â€
