So I finally broke down and called my Fundie parents to see what they thought of Palin.
They aren't stupid people. They are college educated with high IQs. They are also hardcore Christian Fundies. I knew they'd love her religious and political views, but I really thought that she would insult their intelligence.

Today, curiosity finally got the better of me, so I called them.

My father said, "Well.... of the four of them... she's the only one I could MAYBE trust."

After picking my jaw up off the floor, I pointed out that she's an idiot and does not know who Hamas even is, couldn't name any Supreme Court decisions, and couldn't name any newspapers she read. He replied,

"Well... yeah... she has a lot to learn, but morally, she's the only one of the four of them that I trust. And she's an expert on energy. She really knows about oil and gas. These other guys don't have a clue to solve our energy problems."

I cut him off. I couldn't stand to hear anymore. He had repeated back the talking point. "She's an expert on energy." Un-****ing-believeable.

I told him to go online and watch all of the Katie Couric interview. Then I said I had to go.

They believe humans and dinosaurs coexisted.
They believe Jonah sat in the belly of a whale.
They believe Noah got two of every species and put them in a boat and floated around for 40 days.
They believe that the rapture and apocalypse will occur in their lifetime.

But it took believing in Sarah Palin for them to shock me.

I am shocked and dumbfounded and disappointed and infuriated.

The Obama Republicans/conversion Bouncies weren't working, so they've turned to Palin now. Three bongs at the most, if that.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Not half as much as your parents are, I'll bet.

I wonder if they ever think that interview was a slice and dice job, which it was.

Reminds me of that episode when Homer got accused of sexual harassment.

They believe humans and dinosaurs coexisted.
Well, they were created within days of each other, but probably the real big dinosaurs lived outside the Garden, so at the same time, but not in the same place.

They believe Jonah sat in the belly of a whale.
Nope, it was a fish.  Not a whale.

They believe Noah got two of every species and put them in a boat and floated around for 40 days.
Nope, two of some species, seven of others...and it was a year, not 40 days.

They believe that the rapture and apocalypse will occur in their lifetime.
Nope, they will occur.  No one knows when.

?????  That doesn't make any sense.

But more importantly, has Sarah Palin identified herself as a YEC?

My money says that the DUmbass's parents looked at each other and aske where did we go wrong.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

DUmmy Lucky 13 may have a brazillion posts at the DUmp, but he must never read.
Every word of his description of Christians violates democrat orthodoxy.
DUmmy Lucky 13 should study up on democrat beliefs before constructing his lies, he's risking a granite pizza.

By the way, I have my own anti-bouncy today.

So, anyway, I was in the parking lot at Home Depot this afternoon (not a local hardware store). I walked past this pickup truck with a bumper sticker on its tailgate. The bumper sticker said "I'm a Christian, I own a gun, and I'm a Democrat." Three statements, only two of them lies. I guess the guy is at least more honest than most democrats.

True story, Hot Rod.
