I have been a card carrying Republican since I came out of high school in May of 1972, and for the most part have voted along party lines. Frankly, for reasons you have stated below, I have absolutely had it with them, and am jumping ship this election. Obama has promised to CUT my taxes by over 1100.00 in the tax and income bracket I am in, and it is way past due.
I am sick of seeing the struggling middle class (and here is a tip, the true working MIDDLE class do not make six figure salaries) carry the lions share of the tax burden in this country, while those at the top have a million loopholes available to them to escape paying their fair share. And dont get me started on corporate taxes. The oil companies are fat with profits, but STILL get gvt subsidies and tax breaks??? Whats wrong with this picture?
World economy? I have watched companies ship thousands of manufacturing jobs out of this country to poor underpaid sweat shops with absolutely no accountability or penalties for doing so, and my political party not only stands on the sidelines and watch it happen, but encourage those who do so.
As for the bail outs, let them burn, and hang the scoundrels from the highest scaffolds that let this happen, both gvt and private. I agree. L.B. I can not stand to look into the faces of my Grandchildren and know what is being left to them because of the irresponsibility of an elite few........ I dont agree with the Democrats on a lot of issues, but as the popular saying is, ITS THE ECONOMY, STUPID!!! Thats my two cents
