God Bless buddy and I hope your situation improves soon!

JeffreyWilliamson Made the "For Gawds Sake shut up about the bodies in trees because I"M HERE and they AIN'T" thread in response to the "Please let there be tons of dead so's we can beat McCain" threads that wre going up in droves by vultures and rumor pimps.

After having people tell him that he must be mistaken because they were reading it on the interwebs and who was he to say different just because he was, ya'know, ACTUALLY THERE, he posted this thread:

***ALERT*** Plague Riddled Zombies Eating Brains and Dogs in Galveston!

Saturday, September 20, 2008

Galveston, Texas. Following mysterious reports escaping the media blackout that has been imposed in Galveston County Texas, wire services have confirmed that the millions of Hurricane Ike corpses everyone has been looking for in Galveston and Bolivar have risen from the dead as hideous, brain-starved zombies due to a leak at the University of Texas Medical Branch's disease lab.

It's not clear exactly what disease or deadly, radioactive spores have caused this horrible corpse bringing-back-to-life mutation, but as early as Monday afternoon local residents began reporting bodies leaving their piles, climbing down out of the trees they had been swept up into, and generally swiming onto shore from the the area in the Gulf now known as "Sinkers and Floaters Bay".

Alarming reports of scenes similar to Sega's House of the Dead 2 video game have been steadily increasing since Thursday, along with evidence that the rampaging zombies' tastes have expanded to include dogs such as the one shown in this undated file photograph:

Check back here frequently for updates to this crisis as we receive them.

I repeat, God Bless Jeff and I hope your life gets somewhere near normal soon.

It is nice to see there is some small level of sanity still clinging to life on the island although why it wishes to stay is a mystery.

The fact is that for a week now they have been in a wishful tizzy hoping that they could have some sort of Katrina redux to attack Republicans with.
This after a week of wild eyed hope that the lonestarnut really had something that was going to destroy John McCain.
That after a couple of weeks of insane and vile rumor mongering about Governor Palins children.

Gee,seems like a pattern here of lies and desperation.

8. Am I sick for kinda hoping to live through a zombie attack?
I think it'd be ****ing awesome.

But make them the original Dawn of the Dead zombies, you know, the slow walkers...none of the runners from the remake. I can't deal with that shit.

I can relate to this.

The "Slow" zombie apocalypse is almost ideal for middle aged chubby guys.  :-)

None of these Rocket Zombies from 28 Weeks Later or the Dawn Of The Dead remake.

Here is DU in ALL it's idiotic glory!!!!

The guy who started this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x4042011

Did so to debunk the asshat rumor mongering going on about thousands of bodies lodged in trees, ect, ect.

The mock zombie attack thread that you see above is his as well.

This is the mentality level he is dealing with over there:

205. OH but I beg to differ. One poster first claimed to have secondhand knowledge of 900 bodies
floating in the water. Then the next day he claimed to have secondhand knowledge of at least 1500 bodies stuck in trees. Said poster claimed that the source of his secondhand knowledge was SO reliable that he'd allow this person to RAISE HIS KIDS.

203. Where's your video?
Edited on Sat Sep-20-08 04:44 PM by cui bono
It's been days. If you want to prove something post it.

And while you're at it, go tape the rest of the coast. It's not just Galveston, which you would know if you really were paying attention to people's posts.

WTF is so wrong with people trying to get to the bottom of things. There's more than enough reason for people to think something very bad is getting covered up. The real travesty is people like you who would rather believe what THIS government tells you and are part of the problem by trying to silence those who are questioning authority.

Did you miss that ABCNews video of the reporters talking about the black out? The one that started with an interview with the all too smarmy Gov. Perry who couldn't stop smirking? Yeah, like there's nothing being covered up. Open your mind and your eyes and stop posting bs threads with nothing to back it up.

218. There is no video. This is a fraud.
Who in his right mind would survive a direct hit from a hurricane, and make it a top priority to read DU for several days via cell phone (a valuable object in such a situation, with limited battery power) to look at the body count threads?

I went through Katrina and for awhile had only cell phone reception myself, no Internet. I certainly did not waste it combing DU.

70 recs. What an embarrassment. Can no one here think critically?

215. I did not realize until now that you were the DUer who posted that sympathy thread pre-Ike.
 "I'm a tough guy and I'm stayin'!"

"I have to stay, please keep me in your thoughts, DU."

"I can't get out."

I don't think you are, or ever were on Galveston Island. I post on weather blogs and your type is easy to pick out on those, because it comes up every time there is a hurricane. It's a special attention-whoring kind of troll. On the Weather Underground blog someone pretended to be stuck in NOLA before Katrina and claimed to have given away his airline ticket to his poor elderly neighbor -- except, oh snap, there were no flights out at that time, which an enterprising investigator turned up. It happens before every hurricane, a troll hitting the blog claiming (1) to be unable to leave, or (2) to be a tough bad-ass. None of these trolls are ever at ground zero; they are out for attention. If you are on the island, then you are a fool for making DU your priority during storm preparation, and if your cell phone is giving out, maybe you shouldn't have been combing DU post-storm looking for Ike threads. Honestly, of all the things to do post-hurricane with a limited and valuable resource like a cell phone. But I don't buy it and it is a disgrace for almost 70 people to have recced what would be an obvious troll thread on a weather site.

There are over 700 missing in Katrina. Some are undoubtedly living underground, homeless, unaccounted for, but the majority washed out to sea with the storm surge and everyone on the central gulf coast knows it. This will be the case with Ike when all is said and done.

YOU'VE BEEN PLAYED, DU.

The guy is posting from the middle of his messed up city on a smart phone with no way to upload video (And has said that ) and he's dealing with asshats that WANT piles of dead that they can stand on and crow over telling HIM that he needs to wise up, ignore his lying eyes and start buying into the interweb rumors that THEY are helping to perpetuate.

There are many members of Democratic Underground who lived through this devastating hurricane. Some have family and friends who are still unaccounted for.

This thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x4042011

Is a fracking stupidity hive.

They are attacking the guy for reporting that in Galvaston and the areas of Bolivar and other places he's seen there are not huge piles of rat nibbled bodys.

There is a huge pack of ghoulish sick wackjobs over there that are upset because someone who is THERE SEEING THE GROUND TRUTH is debunking their hopes of a huge corpse wreath that they can hang around some republicans neck close to an election.

This is vying for the sickest thread I have ever seen at that cesspool.  And that is some broad ****ing territory.

Praying for a hurricane to wipe out NOLA to **** up the GOP Convention was pretty ******* awfull.

Being pissed off when someone tells you that 70-75 people died instead of the thousands you hoped for is pretty *******ed AMAZINGLY awful.

Holy Hell.

Though apparently well meaning (if the intent was to suggest some calm amid the rumors) as presented here we feel this is inflammatory. Sarcasm or satire rarely works to make a call for calm.

Thanks for your consideration.

And yet not one of these threads from Th1onein have been locked. Yes, one of them was moved to the tin hat forum, but it's still open as of now.

This behavior is just like after Charley. I remember Madfloridan being
100% sure the "hundreds of bodies" were "hidden" in Jeb's Ice Truck Fleet.  :whatever:

Those two shitheads that had the DU ghouls going were later proven false.
And the DUmmies said nothing that I can remember, never even admitted
they'd been played for fools.

They just moved on to the next hurricane that year hoping for mass death
to blame on Bu$h.  :whatever:
