I see this as Trump trying to end a 47-year-old war. One can argue which Presidents had the least complicated opportunity, but, IMO, Reagan, GHWB, GWB, and Trump 1.0 had much more stuff to deal with than did Clinton, Obama, and LIEden, the latter two actually feeding $$$$$$ to Iran.

Clinton was probably too busy trying to bang anything that moved to know everything that was going on, but the Magic Muslim, without a doubt, knowingly helped them out. SloJo was mentally so far gone when they installed him in the position that I don't know for sure what he did (or didn't do), but I'm sure that his handlers helped the Iran authoritarian regime every chance they got because the DemonRat overlords are envious of it.

If you've been following coverage of the Trump administration's military action against Iran, you've probably noticed something: A lot of people are determined to convince you that the United States is losing.

Even worse, many of them know they're wrong. Critics across the political spectrum -- from Democrats to elements of the so-called horseshoe Right -- are pushing narratives that paint the conflict as a disaster in the making. The goal is simple: Undermine public confidence and turn what is shaping up as a strategic success into a perceived failure.

Three particular claims are circulating widely. All three deserve to be addressed.

Lie No. 1: The war is a quagmire.

The first claim is that the United States has stumbled into another interminable Middle East war -- one destined to drag on for years and possibly escalate to catastrophic levels.

For a brief moment earlier this week, markets reacted to that fear. Oil prices jumped sharply amid speculation that the strait could be disrupted.

But the panic faded almost as quickly as it began. Within days, crude prices had fallen back below $90 a barrel.

Oil prices are volatile, so the grade that was at $115 and fell to $83 was at $93 when I checked a few minutes ago.

Iran appears to have conducted a significant cyberattack against a U.S. company, a first since the war started

An Iran-linked hacker group has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on a medical tech company in what appears to be the first significant instance of Iran’s hacking an American company since the start of the war between the countries.

The company, Stryker, which is headquartered in Michigan, produces a range of medical equipment and technology.

Historically, Iran has conducted some of the most infamous “wiper” cyberattacks on national enemies, aiming to simply erase all data on computers’ networks. Victims include Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s national oil company, in 2012, and the Sands Casino in 2014.

Interesting development on many levels.

UPDATED: Iran Shoots Down F-15; Iran Offering Reward for Pilots

Well, this isn't good. It appears that Iran got a lucky shot in and took down what appears to be an F-15.

Reports are still murky, but the evidence that Iran succeeded in downing an F-15 is growing, and Axios appears to have broken the story.

As with all things breaking, X is filled with speculation, but also evidence. There are what appear to be major rescue operations ongoing in southern Iran, including low-flying helicopters in dangerous territory.

This is a significant loss, obviously.

In the context of the past 5 weeks, the US has been flying B-52s, B-1s, F-15Es, and F/A-18E/Fs in Iranian airspace for 4 weeks or more, and A-10Cs for 2 or 4 weeks. B-52s and B-1s have the RCS and IR visibility of a bull African elephant. F-15Es and F/A-18E/Fs have the RCS and IR visibility of a black rhino. And A-10Cs are Warthogs. In context, what is remarkable and indicative of how things stand is that this is Iran's first shootdown.
