Got mistaken for a maga today.
Was in Tractor Supply getting some hardware for my log trailer. Guy behind me as I am checking out says to me "Trumps sending them all back" with a big grin on his face . I let my better judgement take over instead of saying anything I just stared at him until the smile faded and he looked away.

I am a 60 year old white guy with a crew cut and close beard. I hate to be seen as a Orange menace draft dodging supporter.

Of course on my way back to the shop I came up with a great comeback. Could have answered, Really? He is sending the 1500 traitors back to jail? That's great!

But I don't think that fast especially when not expecting a interaction like that.

Actually, him admitting he didn't think of a retort on the spot could be taken as an indication that this one is real.  Granted, if so it more than likely would have been a real interaction with a fellow DUmp fly trying to generate their own bouncy, but still....

I've long suspected this to be the case with many such DU anecdotes. Perhaps they did encounter a Trump supporter in public, but didn't think of the response they claim to have made until after the fact. It's known as esprit de l'escalier.
