They are throwing so much crap against the wall trying to make excuses for this guy that it's gotten ridiculous. Here is one of the tweets that "prove" that it was an innocent mistake:
Bowman was trying to walk from the Cannon building to the Capitol building to vote. Unusually, the Cannon exit he went to wouldn't open and had this confusing sign on it. He thought it was saying you had to press the alarm to get out. This all makes sense. What am I missing?
https://twitter.com/MattBruenig/status/1708305191575900440What exactly is confusing about the sign? It's a crash bar emergency exit. Every elementary school student has seen one and has been taught what a fire alarm does. Is this adult, who was a public school teacher, claiming that he doesn't understand basic English, or doesn't know what the words "Emergency Exit" mean, or doesn't know how a crash bar door works or was never taught why fire alarms are only supposed to be pulled in emergencies? Maybe it's good that he's in Congress because it's keeping him away from children. The whole issue reminds me of one of my favorite cartoons:
Democrats in action. They would have all of America's problems solved by now if only they could figure out how doors work.
