They are charging too much for the cars!!!

I am all for the workers getting a better deal with raises and the return of pensions.
Part of this equation is that customers have been paying HUGH prices for the vehicles in the first place.

Lower the price of cars!!

Plethora of stupid in this post.

It seems primitives have no concept that if car prices are too high then demand will fall and dictate to the manufacturers that they need to adjust their pricing. That reaching such a well documented conclusion is a heavy lift for them tells us all we need to know.

Star Moron mysteryowl's post parrots LIEden's pro-union lie. Here is a chart showing FoMoCo's gross revenue, net income, and net margin % by quarter for 2010 through the first half of 2023, https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/F/ford-motor/net-profit-margin .

FoMoCo's gross revenue is its highest ever, but not by a lot. HOWEVER, LIEden's lie was "record profits". FoMoCo's net profit margin for the first half of 2023 is on the order of 2.2%, which is pathetically far from FoMoCo's "record profit" since 2010.

Looking at GM, https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/GM/general-motors/profit-margins , same time frame, they are doing much less awful, but GM's ~5.8% net profit margin in the first half of 2023 is far from GM's highest profit since 2010.

Is LIEden so grossly ignorant that he confused gross revenue with net profit? Did LIEden lie, knowing his faithful Prog followers would not dare fact-check his grossly false claim? I really do not much care.

Was I surprised that LIEden's claim was false? Not. At. All.

Maybe if the goobermint would not put so many standards on the cars they might cost less and the more pay and benefits for the workers just gets added to the price  :thatsright:

Between onerous gooberment regs and union thugs milking them into bankruptcy, I'm surprised GM, Ford, and whatever-Chrysler's-present-owner-calls-themselves have not moved all production to Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and South Korea.

Lower prices while simultaneously paying employees more. What could possibly go wrong?

And you forgot china where they can put a remote control in them and a means to spy on you.

Ford CEO: Granting Wage Rises Could Prevent The Transition to EVs
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2023/09/15/ford-ceo-granting-wage-rises-could-prevent-the-transition-to-evs/

Quote
h/t Breitbart; Imagine being told that you can’t have the cost of living increase you demanded, same percentage increase executives granted themselves, because Auto companies need the money to fund the EV transition.

… While discussing the pay raises demanded by the UAW in negotiations and pay raises for CEOs, Farley said that they have offered pay raises and are open to big pay increases, but the 40% that the UAW is asking for is too much and would put the company out of business, and “There’s a fine line here that we won’t go past, which is, we want everyone to participate in our success. But if it prevents us from investing in this transition to EVs and in future products like the ones we have now like a new F-150, the best-selling vehicle in the U.S., then everyone’s job’s at risk if we don’t invest. So, there’s a line. The line isn’t for us to go bankrupt. The line is somewhere in the middle, and the only way to resolve that is to actually negotiate.” …

Not seeing a down side here. Battery powered TOYS do not belong on the roads. I never let my kid take his powerwheels out there, before; why in hell would I change my mind now?

Record profits?

I could have sworn I just read that ford was 4 billion in the hole on electric vehicles which the federal government is leveraging them to sell to people who by and large do not want electric vehicles.

Who you gonna believe? What you read with your own eyes, or a known and documented prevaricator and plagiarist who was never all that bright to begin with, and whose meager measure of intelligence has dwindled markedly with the onset of terminal-stage dementia?
