the great accomplishment of vetoing half a billion dollars of earmarks only makes her guilty of not eradicating them entirely.

maybe she was reaching out, healing, and unifying with the democrates in the alaska state legislature. you know, like a chief executive
has to do from time to time.

is she going over like gangbusters on the campaign trail, or what?
and the remark about her heels is sexist! I demand an immediate retraction and apology!

Palin Attacks Obama on Earmarks
The GOP ticket spent another day on the trail together and Sarah Palin again attacked Barack Obama on earmark requests. This time her hit was harder and she compared it to what she was doing to fight pork barrel spending in Alaska:
“In just three years our opponent has requested nearly one billion dollars in earmarks. That’s nearly a million dollars for every working day,†Palin told the cheering crowd, “So as we reform the abusive earmarks in our state our opponent was requesting nearly a billion dollars in earmarks as a senatorial privilege as I was vetoing half a billion as an executive responsibility.â€
She again failed to mention the earmarks she has accepted for Alaska which amounted to 52 earmarks valued at $256 million in her first year and 31 earmarks valued at $197 million this year.
The duo campaigned at a rainy outdoor rally dubbed “McCain Street USA†and amongst an excited crowd of over 5,500 chants of “Sarah, Sarah, Sarah!†could be heard. Supporters carried signs that read, “You Go Girl!†and “America Respects John McCain. America Loves Sarah Palin.â€
The Alaska governor pressed her and McCain’s reformer credentials which reinforces the message of their television ad released yesterday, “We are going to take that message of reform all across this nation to everyone in every party or no party at all and we are committed to that reform and that is what John McCain and that is what I am all about.â€
Wearing a red blazer and rocking 3 inch red heels, she greeted supporters after the rally that were clearly ecstatic to be close to the Vice-Presidential candidate. One woman put her hand on her chest and looked faint after shaking Palin’s hand.
