Seems that common sense isn't all that "common."

What many (most?) of us believed to be "common sense," is anything but. What person with any basic "common sense" would have voted for Donald Trump in 2016?

And, yeah, it's okay to "not get it" and to make a mistake and not understand. But now, it's obvious exactly what the Orange Monster and his followers are, and the insane world they want to bring about. Yet, it seems there are still millions of Americans who are, once again, ready to vote for him even if he's convicted of committing espionage and sentenced to prison.

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH OUR COUNTRY?

This isn't the America in which many of us grew up. It's not the America in which most of us valued education and knowledge. It's not the America that tried to help children in hunger and need. It's not the America that says "Send me your rich, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free," which is inscribed on the Statue of Liberty. It's not the America we all hoped would come to be.

It's an America that is under attack by the forces of fascism that we thought our fathers or grandfathers had defeated in WWII. Yet, it seems that those who oppose democracy and freedom never go away. And now, they are here among us.

Looks like those of us who believed in that thing called "common sense" have been deceiving ourselves.

insisting he has "common sense", whatever the **** that's supposed to mean. They never explain their definition of common sense, just that it's supposed to be an effective substitute for logic, reason, curiosity, inquiry, and the capacity to learn from abstract concepts.

I'd say in addition, anything deemed "comprehensive" is also no longer comprehensive. when I hear a politician say that word, I know he is full of sh** and fixin to take something from citizens.
