Kremlin says Ukraine sent two drones to attack Vladimir Putinhttps://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/kremlin-says-ukraine-sent-two-drones-to-attack-vladimir-putin/ar-AA1aFXMZRIGA, Latvia — Russia on Wednesday accused Ukraine of staging a drone attack intended to hit the Kremlin residence of and kill President Vladimir Putin, an electric allegation that could create justification for Russia to escalate its war in Ukraine.
Russia said it had thwarted the attack and that Putin was not in the building at the time.
The allegation of an assassination attempt, which could not be independently confirmed, was made in a statement shared by the Kremlin press service with Russian state news agencies on Wednesday afternoon.
The video is embedded. Russia's claim of a thwarted assassination attempt is absurd on a multiple levels.
1. The drones were clearly in controlled flight, with no sign of disruption.
2. The drones "attacked" the dome of the Kremlin. Who here believes Putin dwells in, meets with people in, or even visits the top dome of the Kremlin?
3. The drones exploded over the dome, where there very moderate explosive charge would do little or no damage.
4. While myriad Russian missile and drone strikes against the city of Kyiv make Moscow a correspondingly valid target, would Ukraine really expend two fairly long range drones against a target with near-zero military value? Even for something akin to a Doolittle Raid symbolic attack (from which Hornet and Enterprise returned, and most B-25 pilots & crew survived without being captured)?
I suppose the latter is possible, whether by Ukraine or anti-Putin Russians. That this was captured on video suggests an organized effort by someone.
Another equally or more plausible possibility is that it was a Putin-planned or inspired false flag action by Russia. I'm not committed to this possibility, but it seems the more plausible, in light of 1-4.
As to the US reporter being held hostage by Russia, he is totally unrelated to the drone "attack", whether false-flag, by anti-Putin Russians, or by Ukraine.
