Sara Palin thinks that community organizers, people who help democracy by helping the common people participate in it, are not as important as the politicians, some of which are in direct conflict with the same citizens that they are supposed to represent.

Is this right?

No asshat, it's wrong.  Sarah Palin said no such thing.   Don't believe me, find the transcript online and read it for yourself.  And while you're at it, answer me this:  how does being a community organizer give a person the leadership experience necessary to run a country moreso than being a governor of a state?

Someone please confirm: Did she REALLY say this?!?
Posted by TygrBright on Thu Sep-04-08 12:57 AM

That is, did Sarah Palin really say, in her speech on national television, representing her Party's ticket, words to the effect that...

"...community organizing is not a real job..."

Did she really say that?

Really?

No she didn't. Here's the transcript.

Here's the exact lines from the transcript...

I guess — I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities

What responsibilities do community organizers have that equal those of a mayor or the governor of a state?

This world of threats and dangers, it’s not just a community and it doesn’t just need an organizer.

It needs someone with experience.  Experience that Obama simply does not have.
