Should Trump or Pence be subpoenaed to appear before the Committee?

It would likely be a precedent and the Repubs would not hesitate to use it against Democratic Presidents and VP's if they were in charge.

If they were subpoenaed, would they take it to the Courts?

Will they be able to get the information they need without Mr Orange and Mr Yellow?

If they did not appear, they could make a criminal referral to the Justice Dept. After all, they are not sitting President or VP, they are citizens like the rest of us now.

I say, go for it.

2. They won't show up and I doubt anyone can/will make them.

Personally, think it's time for a Preliminary Report from the Committee.

It would just give them a national platform to confuse things further then they do now. They are not needed for the purpose of the committee, and I believe the committee is getting enough to complete their report through the aides and others testifying. Criminal referrals are not the primary thing to come out of the committee, laying out what was done in clear language is.

5. We Need to Get Over Any Worry That We Might Set a Precedent

That would free up those authoritarian anti-democracy folks. They have little or no respect for precedent, even on their "supreme" court. The list of precedents they have set is long and goes way back, but most importantly, recently their respect for norms and tradition and pretty much all things formerly considered conservative seems to have vanished.

Then talk and talk and lie and lie and threaten and foam at the mouth
He will not be able to help himself
They will do anything to stop that from happening
