What libs don't get is nobody cares what the rest of the world pays for gas, only what they paid for gas yesterday.

It's probably beyond the average DUmmy's ability to understand, but different countries (and regions within countries) have different composite cost-of-living. That is why a cost rise for something costlier elsewhere is significant or painful to those actually paying the higher cost.

Such as comparing California to North Dakota.  The cost of living is incredibly different.  A $1 million house in LA or SF is going to look a lot different in suburban Midwestern cities, i.e. much larger than the outrageous real estate in suburban LA.

I was watching an old episode of "Psych" the other night and decided to look up housing prices in Santa Barbara. 

OMG.  The price of an 1150 Sq ft house was ridiculous.

Yep I live here. The prices are only getting worse. Neighbor down the street bought two years ago and nearly doubled their money when their house sold three months ago.

And when their gas/electric/natural gas/grocery bill goes up people tend to notice it and then they start to wonder why. Then they find out why:  when you have an energy producing country with an energy producing hostile federal government prices will rise... add in the globull warming BS and reliable dem voters are either gonna stay home or vote the dems out of office.
