Patriot Guard Riders and Face Diapers
« on: March 09, 2021, 05:51:22 AM »
I've mentioned before that I'm a PGR rider. Have always enjoyed the honor of escorting and standing for those veterans and first responders who have passed.

Covid, not surprisingly, has impacted PGR missions here in Arkansas. Here's a recent exchange:

ME (to a Mission Captain and in response to an email notification of an upcoming mission. Nothing was indicated in the notification about wearing of masks or "CDC Guidelines"):  Thanks for being real about the BS CDC "guidelines". I refuse to wear a mask while serving a fallen hero and his family, and as I see no indication in your post about such, I will be there on Wednesday.

PGR CAPTAIN: Just because it was not on the post does not mean we should not care about others, but should show how much we care, genuinely care, for this family.

ME: What are you saying? That the wearing of a face diaper is a requirement to show compassion and care for the family? Simply being there and serving isn't enough? If you're making it a requirement, I'll pass until PGR comes to its senses.

PGR CAPTAIN: The Arkansas PGR has been following CDC guidelines and will continue for the time being. I am sorry for the disappointing disagreement.

ME: Fair enough. Thanks for the clarification. I'll participate when the face diapering is no longer a requirement - if that ever occurs. It's sad that "CDC Guidelines" have become regulatory mandates.

Good on you, Euph!  As long as people continue to push this stuff I'm going to push back.  If they want to wear a mask ... knock yourself out!  Just don't tell me I have to.

You don't have to wear it while riding, do you?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Especially now with the spread reducing, mask wearing has almost become virtue signaling.  Sadly, a lot of people have their little children wearing the things, and kids just accept it.  Even though the threat to children is virtually nil.
