Neighbors.
I know, I complain about them constantly.

Adjoining side yard. We both are outside in our side and back yards a lot.

4th of July: A good sized picnic over there. Four couples and about a million kids. Drinking. Kids running around. One kid, very young, completely unsupervised, trying to shimmy up a drainpipe. Everyone hugging and kissing. Firecrackers. Loose dogs. No masks to be seen on anyone.

Daily: An endless stream of strangers over there. Some doing hired work, some visiting. New and different people everyday. Have not seen a mask ONCE. If I go out in the yard, I am constantly being approached by someone over there. How many times can you stick your hand out and tell someone to back the **** up because you have medical conditions. How many times can you say "Hey, not trying to be a prick or anything, but I have to tell you daily to keep away". The response? Oh yeah yeah, sorry! I forgot!

I'm nervous and jerky every time I walk out my door. I put a mask on. I suck wind and suffer through it while mowing the lawn for 3 hours in 90 degree heat, because I don't want anyone over there getting sick because of me...in case I'm asymptomatic. I do it because they are not smart enough to stay the **** away from me. But who protects me from them? I do, but it's stressful. I can't relax. Always have to keep my eyes open. Have to keep my head on a swivel.

I self quarantine close to 100% of the time. Only go outside of my property when I need to buy stuff in order to survive. Always curbside pickup. Now I worry about even going in my own ******* yard. So, do I tell them that if they come near me one more ****ing time that I'm going to smack the shit out of them? No, can't do that. I'm smart enough to know that if you put your neighbors uptight, you have a war on your hands for the rest of your life.

I've raised my voice, I've pleaded, I've literally RAN to maintain distance...it just bounces off them. And the kids. What am I going to do? Scream at a little kid? Frighten a kid after I've already spoken to the mom? No, can't do that.

This is the strangest bullshit I've ever experienced.

:whatever: Who is the shitty neighbor?

5. Part of the yard is fenced, part is not...

If I'm in the fenced part...say 10 feet away from the fence working...they'll go right up to the fence and start talking to me when my back is facing them, thus scaring the shit out of me and causing me to do a quick calculation in my head to determine how far away I am from the fence. It's maddening.

3. Outside especially and the distance in the yards, I do not see why you are concerned.

I mean if they came up to you to talk, then yes. But sounds like you are well 6 ft apart.

6. That's what they try to do.

Come right up to me and talk.

9. Also, LizBeth...

A main concern of mine concerning the masks does not have to do with just myself. With the amount of people coming and going over there, I am concerned that there is zero social distancing at that home (both inside and outside of the house), and zero masks. So while I worry for myself, I also worry for the children there, the parents, and the people visiting.

7. Yes, LC, we're no longer a nation of ladies and gentlemen......

or at least it's become quite rare. What you described would make one want to put up a much taller fence, but then that make me feel like I'm living in a box.

I live in an old low-to-middle income urban neighborhood which is really alien to my country upbringing. Far too many of my neighbors are rude, selfish and inconsiderate beyond my comprehension. Part of it probably is just youthful energy and stupidity but a lot is just plain meanness. I think some of these idiots have to have a device with a 2-cycle engine to wipe their ass. Some days, it's a constant drone of noise and I'm super sensitive to it.

I've watched our society slowly go through the transition from the 50s to now and honestly don't know where we're headed in the future. I worry for my 13YO granddaughter.

Best of luck and thanks for sharing........

8. Thank you, KY...

I don't want to go into any more detail because it would reveal too much personal information for the internet, but suffice to say I have lived here a long time and I am well liked by pretty much everyone on the block...because I've made it a point to cultivate friendly, or at least civil, relationships with all of my neighbors.

I think this one of the reasons I am approached so often. We've been through two bad natural disasters here. We've all helped each other out. I'm super friendly even to the people I don't especially care for. But things have changed since the pandemic. Most of my neighbors are super careful, and are isolating as much as possible.. They are masked if they go to work, or when they go to the store. We speak in person often, only we have to yell a bit because we keep our distance. We also talk via texting. Most of the people on my street are older than me, and I'm old.

But the younger people on the block...they don't care. They don't seem to have any concern about this pandemic.

Best wishes to you...

14. Sounds to me like they are trying to be friendly at least.

Just ask them to stay 6 feet away each time you see them. You are pretty much safe outdoors. I seldom wear a mask outside. Most spread is by extended indoor contact.

As far as what the do on their property; it’s really not your problem. Sounds like they are not too smart. But not your problem, anyway.

This virus has us all on edge.

If ChucklesLarms put a tithe of the energy (s)he expends on watching neighbors into something productive (s)he would never have to worry about whether their EBT card got "filled". What a pathetic human-being-surrogate.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

That story sounds like someone is looking for pity and sympathy.  For one thing if it takes you three hours to mow your yard, but you can't find 6-10 feet distance between you and your neighbor.  Sounds like a load of BS to me.   :mental:

I have a moderately small lawn due to droughts and the BS water rates here in the People Democratic Republic of Kalifornia, about 3500 sq ft. I mow with a manual reel mower to get some exercise. Takes me about 30 minutes with edging and raking up.

The Karen DUchebag takes THREE hours to mow the lawn and in 90F heat?  Must have a huge lawn and has never thought about doing yard work in the morning.

OR

The Karen DUchebag is telling a big fat lie.

Mmmm, which one is more likely?

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I'm going with the Karen DUchebag spinning a big, fat lie. DUmbasses lie. They lie all of the time and this is no exception to that rule.
