Carville: Dems wasting first night

CNN) — Have the Democrats wasted the first night of the convention?

Yes, says Democratic Strategist and CNN contributor James Carville.

...

"You haven't heard about Iraq or John McCain or George W. Bush — I haven't heard any of this. We are a country that is in a borderline recession, we are an 80 percent wrong-track country. Health care, energy — I haven't heard anything about gas prices," Carville also says. "Maybe we are going to look better Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. But right now, we're playing hide the message."

...

“If this party has a message it's done a hell of a job hiding it tonight, I promise you that," he said.

This is the standard feeling amoungst conservatives and republicans...where were the specifics, what is their plan?
They have none.

I am hearing this out of the talking heads, but I thought the first night was intentionally touchy-feely.  taking the rough edges off of The MichelleStar! was critical if she is going to be hitting the campaign trail in the general as hard as she did in the primaries, and keeping the
tone cushy soft on the first night was probably a good move.

The BarackStar! has NEVER had a plan;  certainly, not one that he stuck to for more than 15 minutes . . . and it has gotten him this far.  maybe he thinks he can head-fake his way through the general like he did through the primaries.

specifics?  hey, that's part of the old style politics that creates nothing but paralysis, and that he has been sent forth unto this unworthy world, er, ah, country, to heal, unite, and unify.

Rove made an excellent point last night that Michelle spent too much time on stump speech and not enough time on painting a picture about hubby.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

Chris Wallace said the same thing that the Ragin' Cajun said about last night - that the whole thing was a big waste of time, and I agree with them.

Thing seems contrived and fluffy, even though Drunken Uncle Ted was entertaining as usual. The "unity" and "one" themes sort of creeped me out, because they are all a bunch of socialists...collectivism...

They are preparing for the real advent of their messiah - that conference call thing that BHO botched was just to raise expectations for His arrival to them and for the Obamas to try to appear normal. Worked for the kids, but only them.

The delegates applauded MO when she mentioned Hillary Clinton (unity! pandering!), applauded louder when MO mentioned Joe Biden, applauded the loudest when Michelle mentioned the need for increased mental health care. There you go, talk to your base. ::)

Carville: Dems wasting first night

What's Carville whining about?  The dems have been "in control", and near as the moonbats can tell, have wasted all of the past 2 years.

No troop pullout from Iraq.  No confiscation of private property and nationalization of "important industries" in the name of glowbull warming.  No impeachment of BOOOOOSH or Darth Cheney.  No show trials of Lord Rove.

Nothing.

What the **** is one wasted night in the context of 2 wasted years?

carville wasn't pissed because there wasn't a message, he was pissed because no one was stripping the bark off the republicans or "the failed  bush-mccain policies of the past". :-)

Exactly my point.

They've had 2 years to "strip the bark off the Republicans", expose the failed BOOOOOOOOSH policies and tie those failed policies to all those Republican presidential candidates that have been running the past year and a half - or more - and in the eyes of the moonbat base they've done nothing.  The proverbial house has already been proverbially robbed, and Carville's only barking about it now?
