This primitive wasn't paying their fair share of Federal Income Tax because the State he lives in was charging too much in taxes and he could write that tax obligation off against what he owed the Fed. Now, not so much.

Hey primitive, petition your State to quit taxing you so much. Chances are your State gov't is liberal so they're wasting the money anyway.

And if you're getting huge refunds, it's because you're allowing them to take out too much during the year. Seeing as you aren't bright enough to manage your money any better than that, then you deserve to pay more, primitive.

That thread is a hoot!  Read it earlier. I’m glad the responsible Red states are no longer subsidizing the irresponsible Blue states!  Bout damn time.

Since the Trump tax reform capped rather than eliminated the deduction for state/local taxes, either Yavin4 is lying or tacitly admitting to being a 1%er (or close there to).

SALT deductions capped at 10k.

Jimbo's property taxes on his house alone are over 7k year, and now he can't write off all the state and local taxes he pays.

Well, they are benefitting.  It's obvious in the pay stub and the tax return.  Unless you have vast amounts of money in property taxes and mortgage.  Which makes you WEALTHY.  And according to Bernie, if you're making over $29K with a family of four to feed (which means you're close to the street), you're WEALTHY.

We got a lucrative writing contract with Intel, earned too much and paid in too little on our estimated tax payments. We ended up having to refinance our paid-for house to pay our IRS taxes that year.
