I also wish Stone's arrest had not been so overblown. Frankly, I wish he hadn't been arrested at all. I don't want to talk about American investigations of any kind. I'm Canadian, so I stay out of that.

I'll throw in another matter of disgust in what Mueller has been doing: using his huge budget as a weapon against ordinary citizens' limited means to coerce guilty pleas to non-crimes and extract "testimony" that sets up more targets for coercion.

that might have been a little bit of a stretch including Roger Stone in the "good men" blanket description, but that is simple conjecture. Ass or otherwise, he's still a victim of the same process that should have never been there in the first place.

Hi Will. I'm new around here too. I just wanted to agree with your first line in this post. I too am a classic liberal, which must NOT be confused with today's leftists, who are vile dishonest cretins.

As for the actual subject of the thread, I don't pretend to know all that much about Roger Stone. But I do know that this whole Swat-team raid with a couple dozen armed agents with guns drawn, covered by CNN (who just "happened" to be there  ) was WAY out of proportion for any of the alleged "crimes" for which he's being accused. Normally under these types of circumstances they simply call the guy and his lawyer and ask them to come down to the station for questioning. I mean sheesh, even the Unabomber himself, Ted Kaczynski, was taken quietly by two agents and one forest ranger, who simply knocked on his door.

I think there was even more m-16's preent when they stormed litttle 6 yr old Elian Gonzalez's home to send him back to the liberal paradise of Cuba.
