Gun question for the denizens of DU

DU members, I have a question for you. You are constantly counting the number of ‘mass shootings’ in this country. It almost seems as if you count them with glee!  I saw a post yesterday that cheerfully announced the MD shooting as #115, wrong but still it was posted as though fact.

On the other hand you post threads, HUGE threads decrying “why would anyone NEED TO CARRY A GUN IN PUBLIC?!?!” 

Which is it?  Are we to believe we could never use our legal firearm to stop a bad guy who is using a weapon, or are you inflating the numbers of violence?  You can’t have it both ways.

Oh now, sir, you know the primitives can have it both ways.

In fact, they can have something in all the ways they want, just so it suits their self-interested purposes.

They like to pretend that banning guns would immediately get rid of all of the guns in our country. They ignore all stories where the good guys with guns stop the bad guys, and the fact that many of the perpetrators of mass shootings shouldn’t have been able to legally get guns based on currently existing laws.

It's one of the reasons they like psychedelic drugs so much--it's easy to get to their Nirvana if they have their minds altered by drugs.
