I may be at least partly wrong on that first point. I heard a clip of a part of the interview during my AM drive commute. That part of the interview was dumb, and Cooper asked mostly yes-or-no questions, something that should be minimized for an interview if the interviewer wants the interviewee to say a lot about the interview topic.
The host of that AM drive show also made much of a very obvious incongruity. In what was a brightly lit TV setting Daniels' pupils were widely dilated.. Whether in bright sunlight or bright indoor lighting (like for TV!) human pupils would be contracted. The hosts asked whether this was suggestive of Daniels being a drug user. A paramedic and a sheriff's deputy called in to say that such a conclusion could be plausible, that abnormally dilated pupils is a sign they look for in emergency situations.
