I have a large extended family. Really large. Hundreds of 1st, 2nd and third cousins.

All hard core Roman Catholic.

I've been on their email lists forever. And forever they have passed around right wing bullshit in these emails. Horrible, false shit.

I did a reply all in an email not too long ago. Told them all to **** right off. Told them to take me off their stupid list. Called them dumb mother****ers. Told them that I am disappointed in them, because I thought they were smarter than that. Told them to worry about their own families rather than worrying about how low black people wear their pants. Got a bunch of replies telling me to grow up, and to stop swearing because I don't have a good argument if I have to swear. Gave a simple 2 word reply to their responses.

Told my sister the same thing.

I'm too old to coddle these assholes just because they are family. I only see most of them at funerals anyway. I don't have the energy to reason with them. **** 'em. Gotta take a stand sometime in your life.

This has been the best election ever.  It's been a year and they are STILL completely unhinged about it.  Getting the rug pulled out from under you the way these folks had it pulled out from under them ... brilliant.

If I were one of this things family members, I'd send 10 emails per day, and I'd change my email address after every email sent so it couldn't block me.

Judging from her comment, " I only see most of them at funerals anyway," her mass email probably made "official" what had been family practice for years. I suspect your are correct that her family is probably relieved that there is no longer much possibility of Crazy Aunt/Cousin Charmer showing up and spoiling a family gathering.

Lucky Charms went to visit the house she grew up in and asked to see her old room to which she received the reply NO GO AWAY and the door was slammed in her face.
