I agree with the DUmmie in a way. I hate the autoplay videos, but I always keep the volume down anyway.
What annoys the piss out of me is when you want to read the article and you scroll down the page, they make the video jump down on the page to keep it in view.
Hey morons, if I want to watch the video, I won't scroll down.
There is a browser extension called "element hider" for firefox and chrome. you should check it out and take 15 min to watch some youtube and learn how to use it. You can snuff out all kinds of stuff like that with it.
The DUmpass does hit on a valid complaint. The one thing that pisses me off even more are those entire page hijacks where it disabled the whole page and grays it out until you acknowledge their message. element hider will kill those off too.
If you want to go hard core, you can do what I do and use noscript. It's another addon that disabled all page scripts until you specifically allow them. It makes general browsing a lot more work, but if you are like me and mostly just visit the same websites for the most part, it's nice to have. It comes with a cost though. For instance, I can't even read twitchy anymore. If they insist that I allow all that crap to load, then I'm not interested in their website.
I was ok with banner ads here and there scattered around the page, but when they went full-on hijack, I'd had enough of it.
