it totally clueless. Couldn't lead his way out of a paper bag. The US had a good run of it after WWII with no real competition, but has been backsliding for sometime now. And often the US is its own worst enemy with all of the fighting in this country. And, the fact that a damn fool like Trump could ascend to the presidency is very telling. And, we have the GOP that wants to bury most of the country. It's a damn poor recipe for success.

China would be a wonderful place for a new home for the "United Nations".  A Communist government will be a perfect host.

A great analogy of the UN's relationship with the US is the one of the spoiled teen, lashing out at the parents: 

UN: "Yeah, well me and my friends had a vote, and we all hate you guys!  You're not the boss of me!"

US: "We are the boss of you live under our roof"

UN:  "Fine then... I'm LEAVING!" 

US: "Great.  Don't forget we're cutting your allowance to zero"

UN:  "You can't dooooooooooooooooo that!!!"

I suspect that China doesn't want a foreign organization based on their land. The Chinese government really doesn't care much for non-Chinese and for the Chinese who disagree with them

Not to mention China can start paying for the UN instead of the USA.  The UN, like all big government organizations, has morphed into something that the founders never intended to the point that it has become completely ineffective.

Pretty much true of the Chinese government. My daughter has lived in China for several years and is fairly fluent in Mandarin. I think she and the local ordinary people find each other interesting and occasionally amusing. She lives well away from the eastern cities that are frequently visited by Westerners, so she's probably the first Westerner many people around her have seen.
