BTW, there's probably not a company or government agency in the US with a website that isn't occasionally cyber-attacked from a score or two countries in the world. So the information that there were hacking attempts isn't, of itself, remarkable. The types of attacks and how they were detected and dealt with, that's probably the secret part.

Yeppers. RO gets about a dozen fake/spamster new registrants a day, despite RO not being particularly significant, even among Internet discussion sites. The vast majority are from Russia and Ukraine; 3 or 4 years ago China was in that mix and Ukraine not. The big point is that the hack attempts against those officials originating in Russia may or may not be particularly significant. They may be the basic background noise of the Internet. They may be attempts to find a side door into the respective state governments, for purposes unrelated to elections (I wonder how many were attempts on officials in Uber-BLUE states).

I didn't say so on this thread, but I was wondering how she got a security clearance, given her Hate-Trump spoutings. Well, the answer is probably reasonable, it was probably a renewal of her USAF clearance. According to WSB-TV, the feds seized hand-written notes from Winner's home that expressed a desire to burn down the White House and travel to terror hot-spots to meet terrorist leaders.
