Lennon's killer denied parole again

(CNN) -- John Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman, was denied parole for the fifth time Tuesday.

The New York State Division of Parole issued a release saying Chapman's request was denied "due to concern for the public safety and welfare."

Chapman, 53, is serving a sentence of 20 years to life in prison for shooting to death the former Beatle outside his New York City apartment on December 8, 1980.

The killer has served 24 years of his sentence at the maximum-security Attica Correctional Facility and was previously turned down by the New York State division of parole in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Not a threat, please--just facing an unpleasant reality. Much as I know John wouldn't want Chapman murdered, someone will think he would.

 ...and keeping him behind bars for the rest of his life is the only reasonable thing to do. I saw those photos of Yoko at the scene. No one should EVER have to suffer that much and carry on. She DID.

Exactly,I don`t care about the politics of the person or whether one liked his music or not,Lennon was murdered in cold blood and the perp deserves his sentence or worse.

The fact that DUmmies want to take the blindfold off justice when it comes to these things speaks volumes about their intellect and rationality.
