Rather & Mapes were taken down by their own Bush-hatred and confirmation bias. They
so wanted the fauxtocopy handed to them by another hysterical Bush-Hater that they broadcast the fauxtocopy without doing the kind of fact-checking and qualifying statements a teenager would know to do (for example, Rather claimed the document had been authenticated, but one need not need be a professional document examiner to know a photocopy, intrinsically, cannot be authenticated*). IOW, except in a fevered CT-minded imagination Rather and Mapes were not victims of anyone except themselves.
As for Rachel MadCow, she'll also bring herself down - maybe with a spectacular meltdown, maybe gradually, like Keithie has. But not this time (though this over-hyping could be part of a Keithie-style self-sabotage slide).
