So ultimately what can we do?

As the Republicans violate the rules of congress to slam their nomiees through what can the people do to stop this?

I will call my congressman and congress people in my state but I feel helpless.

At what point are we at the General Strike level?

Excuse me.  Excuse me, please.  I have a question.

What rules of Congress have the Republicans violated?

Please do tell.

1. We are PAST the General Strike area...

The protests this past weekend were a start, but far from being enough...we need millions in the streets, we need Nationwide Wild Cat work stoppages. We are watching a coup take place right in front of our eyes, Trump and company keeping us off balance, and laughing as we take our eyes off the ball....IE, when was the last night you heard any real news about his income tax returns, his ties to Russia, and the Russian hacking of our election? Let alone Comey who has dropped off the news cycles. We have got to rise up and be counted before be are beaten into submission.

but the energy doesn't seem to be there. People don't seem to recognize how dire this situation actually is.

If there were starting to be a nationwide call for a wildcat strike I would strongly support it. We need to shut this shit down before it gets MUCH worse and it will if we don't act.

Yeah.

That's the way, that's the Democrat way.

It's been the Democrat way ever since, well, since forever.

Also, aren't the rules for the various chambers pretty much written by the majority party?

Which party is in the majority, again? :whistling:
"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of Liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

"Those that trust God with their safety must yet use proper means for their safety, otherwise they tempt Him, and do not trust Him.  God will provide, but so must we also." - Matthew Henry, Commentary on 2 Chronicles 32, from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible

"These anti-gun fools are more dangerous to liberty than street criminals or foreign spies."--Theodore Haas, Dachau Survivor

The USC gives the houses of Congress the authority to create/change the respective houses' operating rules. Not that DU-folk know or care.

Nice to see Ds continuing their tradition that dates back to G. H. W. Bush's administration (and to Reagan's to a lesser degree).

Newsflash to Dummies and leftists everywhere. Re: Donald Trump's tax returns.  Donald Trump is a  millionaire.  He pays more in a month to tax accountants than you DUmmies will ever collect from welfare in a lifetime.  He probably paid zero or very little the last time he filed taxes.  That is why they are paid so much.  If you idiots want to get in a circle jerk to celebrate this go ahead.  Just be careful of STD's.

Well, the cabinet nominees seem to be going through okay without any Democrats.

There's a lesson in this for them, the Democrats, liberals, and primitives: be sincerely and honestly willing to work with us, and you may get a say in some of the things.

Bullheadedly oppose, and you get nothing.

This!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

People saw that the US was in dire straits, and did something about it. They voted against that scrunt Hillary, and elected President Trump.

You guys really shouldn't be putting down the DUmmie general strike idea. If you remember, it worked when they did it on W. Granted, it took 8 long years, but they finally succeeded in getting him out of office.

If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe
