Is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night since Trump was elected?

I've always slept like a baby. Even when Bush was President. Even when Reagan was President. But ever since election night when people were conned into voting for Orange Hitler I cannot fall asleep. My mind races and when I do manage to fall asleep I wake up in a panic and cold sweat.

In the morning I have a ray of hope that this is all a bad dream and that Obama is still President or Hillary is in the White House but then the cold realization washes over me again that we literally have a fascist dictator and puppet of Russia now running our country.

1. Yes.

I didn't read anything politics related after the election, but slept fine. Since the election...like you, can't sleep. I can't even believe I'm saying this, but I didn't even feel this way after W's inauguration.

Every day this dumb**** does something outrageous, unbelievable and likely illegal

Well, that's a statement I can agree with.  :-)

No, I'm not kidding.

That's the only way I've found to be able to actually pull away from this slo-mo cluster-****.

...exposed to imagees of Trump, news about Trump, thoughts about our plight.

We need a word for it. DT's is taken. Any thoughts?

9. Yes, even up here in Canada.

I've had to double my dose of antidepressants, I take Benadryl and melatonin to get to sleep, I'm taking twice my allowance of tramadol, and I still wake up at 3:30 covered with fear-sweat. Thank God I stopped drinking a couple of years ago.

This war knows no borders.

and every morning i wake up to a nasty reality check: "Trump is still the president"

my work has suffered, my health has suffered, but this is still small potatoes stuff - i can't even imagine how ****ed up things will be a year from now

23. Yes! I fall asleep okay because I quit the internet and TV

and listen to classical music (not Wagner) about an hour before I retire. But I have had too many Hitlerian behavioral dreams and wake up in an anxious state and then it is really hard to get back to sleep and sometimes I just give up and stay up. Fortunately, being retired it doesn't affect or cause any work related problems.

26. I have been falling asleep...

...about 2 AM, dozing off while watching my Downton Abbey DVDs, typically with the lights on, and wake up when my alarm goes off at 7:00.

If I just shut the light off without being totally exhausted, I just lie there thinking. And thinking. And thinking.

29. Yes.

I have anxiety dreams every night, which sometimes wake me up. I wake up in the morning with the thought of Trump. I have a hard time concentrating at work, and have been drinking more since the inauguration. My IBS is considerably worse, and all in all, I am not doing well.

have Trump incidents all through them. And in the morning, when I wake, I lie there for a moment and then it all comes back to me.

33. Yes

I don't think about him or what's happening to our country when I'm lying in bed or even when I wake in the middle of the night. But I think the things I read and hear throughout the day are manifesting with a kind of sleep anxiety. I've been waking with an elevated heart rate. I had a full heart work up just a few years ago, echo, ekg holter monitor etc, for heart palpitations (hormone related and benign). But I wake with my heart rate in the 80s maybe even low 90s. I had to take a nap today because I feel like shit and look that way too.

I realized it was him because I traced it back to 1/21 when it began.

35. Sleep really difficult for about a week after "election."

Then, OK, if I took two Benadryl for a while. Then OK -- UNTIL the refugee/constitutional insult crisis.

More screams and sobs into the pillow, despite feeling pink-hat power and going to resistance meetings.

I need constant affirmation from Dems doing what is right and a press doing its job to calm me down so I can rest.

Told my doc. Was told to call anytime if I needed more help, including meds, if needed. Apparently not a new story to them. And deep in Repug territory.

No meds yet -- I have DU! Right??

All right, I'm not believing any of this, not a bit of it.

Any reasonable person, if as despondent as the primitives allege themselves to be, would do himself in.

When I see reports of suicides among primitives, I'll believe.

There appears to have been zero, zil, nada self-inflicted deaths among primitives since November 8, 2016.  Not one, not a single solitary one.

It's pretty obvious the primitives are lying about how downcast, how depressed, they are.

I can't imagine a more pathetic cesspool of losers than the DUmp.
Each one trying to out-lame the next with their moaning tales of mental flatulence, looking simultaneously for sympathy and approval from the fetid Hivemind.

I wonder how often one of them in a fleeting moment of clarity actually surveys the cretins surrounding them and is thunderstruck by their utter lack of self awareness. or redeeming human virtue

I'm starting to see your point here.  Until a few of them start passing away in their sleep or falling over dead at the keyboard, ala Kephra style, I'm inclined to believe they're secretly rejoicing as much as we are.

.....thunderstruck by their utter lack of.....redeeming human virtue.

But one needs to have something within, inside of, himself before he can recognize it in someone else.

As we see all the time; I can't count the number of times I've been charitable, compassionate, understanding, of individual primitives, and gotten scorned for my pains.

it's because not having any themselves, they don't recognize the goodwill in other people.

Ever trying to be helpful to the medicinal needs of DUmmies, I would recommend sleeping pills.
The usual dosage is in the 1-2 before bedtime range, but as many DUmmies seem to be on various forms of medication at any given time, to be safe I would think 30-40 should do the trick.
A bit of alcohol before bedtime usually helps as well, so just to be sure it is effective, throw down a bottle of Boone's Farm with it. :whistling:

This combination should also take care of any bad dreams you may be having.
Should you wake up, that is. :naughty:

DUmmies also like things like essential oils.

Right before going to bed, mix up a 1:1 ratio of bleach and ammonia, and load that into your vaporizer.

I know a lot of DUmmies are not mechanical minded and have trouble improvising so...

If they don't have a vaporizer, just mix in a small saucepan and place on a burner of a propane gas grill in their mom's basement in their bedroom.
Just remember, the deeper you breathe, the faster and better it works.
And don't be selfish!  Think of your unemployed and homeless DUmmie friends and invite them to join you.  :kumbaya:

Yet not one DUchebag has taken me up on my free single edged razor blade program.

You know I tried to cut myschadenboner to relieve some of the pressure but.....

In Trump's America schadenboner cuts razor blade.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Besides that, the low count OP looks suspicious to me.  Decent bait if you ask me.
Then again, I suspect 80% of the posters over there to be you no good cavers.
Call me naturally optimistic or something, but I have still have real trouble believing that many people are really that damned stupid.
