California to buy Exxon Mobil

California to buy Exxon Mobil

Democratic and Republican lawmakers in Sacramento just might be bailed out of their budget standoff by a new initiative that would slap a one-time wealth tax of 55% on Californians rude enough to have $20 million or more in property. The ballot measure wouldn't come to voters until June 2010 at the earliest, but that might not be a problem, seeing as how the current year's budget will probably still be stalled.

And all of them will bail out.  I am already considering leaving California, where I have loved my entire life.

So let's do some math:  I have no children and am only home on the weekends.  I make a 6-figure salary. I have calculated it wil take 14 -- 14! -- median income families to make up the taxes I pay.  And since I do not use any infrastructure -- no schools, minimal roads, etc. -- my "replacements" will cost more than I do -- I estimate it will take 20 or 30 families to make up the net taxes I will take with me.

Great move, California. Stampede the wealthy (other than idiots like Pelosi) out of the state.

I am going to miss my home, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

These people are friggin' loons. Hollywood will shut down. Wonder where it'll relocate? If it turns'em conservative, fine. Move to the South. If it doesn't? I hope they stay the hell away from the South.

Can you imagine!  The displacement of the rich will destroy CA, might as well start mining on the fault lines and drop the whole thing into the Pacific.

You know, when I was a kid, every farmer had a milk cow and we did too. The old milkcow got the better treatment. She got better feed, water, stable, the best. She'd have a calf and he got a little better treatment too because the farmer knew he needed the old milk cow. Now you'd seperate the cow and calf at night so she'd be full of milk next morning. She'd pour her a little sweet feed in the trough and milk one side, leaving the other for the calf. Ok, you got milk and butter from her and the calf got milk too. Now the farmer, if he took care of the old cow and her calf could  later on butcher the calf for meat, increase his herd or sell him for money. Either, way he still had the cow to milk and he needed her so he took care of her.

Democrats would never make good farmers or know how to use a good milk cow. They'd want to starve her to death, take all the milk and let the calf die. .....and then wonder what the hell went wrong.

Great analogy. I'm using it elsewhere, and will credit you.

I think there's a whole pisspot full of places that won't take HollyWierd in when they get chased out of PRK.  The south just tops the list.

Maybe they can relocate to Detroit?

Coasta Rica ?

Baja ?

Dubai ?

Spain ?
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

Actually a lot of movie production, as well as TV is being done in Canada now.....Canada!!  basically for cost and union reasons.....

We bailed out of California in '88, and although my wife misses the great weather, I've never looked back......I think that California is the only western state that is losing both population and business investment.  This little brainstorm will drive business capital out of the state like a stampede.......soon the illegals will be the only ones left, outside of the moonbats in SF.

This thing is supposed to hit the ballot as an initiative in June 2010, according to the story. That means that when the Sheeple's Republic of Kalifunny enact it onto the law books, it'll be What? January 2011?  June 2011?

That happens, and I think we should just tell the Mexican government to "take it, they're your problem now."
