The incident occurred in Plant City, Florida, early Tuesday morning at the home of Naval veteran Matthew Smith. A neighbor phoned him to say that fire trucks had been dispatched after the house had been set ablaze. Fortunately, Smith and his family were not at home at the time.
"Your heart kind of just sinks in your chest," Smith told the local ABC affiliate. "Definitely blessed to have not been here. It was pretty bad." ABC reports:
In addition to spray painting the words: "cracker, F- Trump, not my prez, and F- yo kids,"
the vandals lit Smith's 8-year-old daughter’s bed and his 18-month-old baby's crib on fire. According to the report, not a single room in the home was spared fire damage.
