It's because they continue to not understand conservatives, or conservative values. What they want to do is create a liberal 'tea party' out of the remnants of the DNC. Because they don't understand conservatism or conservatives, they believe they need the strangest, most extreme people they can find to lead their new coalition. -because (in their tiny minds) they believe that is what the conservatives did. They simply fail to understand that conservatives want to be allowed to succeed on their own merits without the government getting involved, and to otherwise be left the hell alone... No, they think conservatives are a bunch of theological idiots who believe the world is flat, hate science because it goes against the will of God, and are uneducated, gun totin' rednecks. So, now they want to find a leader who is just as kooky as the one the imagine for the Tea Party.. So Keith Ellison is a fairly obvious choice.
It's their refusal to accept people who disagree with them, which is born of their narcissism.
Every thing about this self-esteem bumper sticker generation is what they want and anyone who disagrees is a bigot because bigots are bad and what they want is good because they are good.
They are so convinced of their superiority they refuse to believe people don't want government education, healthcare, retirement, etc. or trannies in their daughter's bathroom at school.
Thus, RW media comes along and capitalizes on popular discontent drowning out LW media in ratings and trustworthiness the Proglodytes don't look at Rush et al as being a products of conservativism but, rather, they claim conservativism is a product of Rush et al.
They think conservatives are stupid, uneducated, unevolved, lizard-brained mobs waiting to be led around by whomever best stimulates their amygdala. We must be, to them, otherwise we would reflexively recognize the superiority of our liberal betters.
Ergo they think that formula will work for them as well.
So, they will descend into the very behaviors they accuse us of perpetrating. What they are about to discover is: As they degenerate they have posed themselves against an enemy that is contemplative and deliberate.
Conservatives are what we are because we look at history and the sum of human experience to determine what works best and what fails. We do not rely on mythologies of "progress" and "it'll work this time!"
