Monique Luiz, Star of LBJ's 'Daisy,' Returns in Hillary Clinton Ad About Nuclear Weapons

Source: AdWeek

Fifty-two years after she appeared, as a 3-year-old, in the most famous political campaign commercial ever made, Monique Luiz is back—and the subject once again is nuclear weapons.

Luiz was the star of 1964's "Daisy" ad for Lyndon B. Johnson, in which she was seen picking the petals off a daisy as an ominous countdown was heard. The spot ended with a nuclear explosion, implying that Barry Goldwater was too dangerous to be president.

Created by Doyle Dane Bernbach and media consultant Tony Schwartz, it was credited with helping LBJ crush Goldwater at the polls.

Now, Luiz is back in the new Hillary Clinton ad below, which has a similar mission—characterizing Donald Trump as too dangerous, even reckless, for the presidency.

"This was me in 1964," Luiz says over footage of the classic spot. "The fear of nuclear war that we had as children, I never thought our children would ever have to deal with that again. And to see that coming forward in this election is really scary."

1. If you get a chance, go to the You Tube comments section for this ad and send Monique your support.

The Trumpchotics will be along shortly to spew hatred towards her there.

Now is Ben really Ken or was he his better half??   I get DUmmies so confused (but then they are too).

2. I remember a campaign button from back then.

It had an image of a mushroom cloud and underneath it said " Bury Goldwater".

Of course Hillbilly Clinton was a big Goldwater supporter.  Before she had her epiphany.

"Hey hey, LBJ how many kids did you kill today?"

Smart move Hillary.  You get to remind that you once supported Barry Goldwater.  You get to remind people that it was a vicious ad which elected Lying Landslide Lyndon Johnson.  You got terrible instincts.  Trump and Bernie are right on that.  Apparently your high school class knew it too.  (She lost her first race for class president; they predicted in ten years she would be a Nun, named Sister Frigidaire.)

In 1964, you were a completely clueless child with no consciousness of the reality of the nuclear threat.

What's your excuse today? If anything, the "woman" you are supporting is far likelier to precipitate WWIII than the Donald.
That goes triple if she thinks there's a buck to be made doing it, BTW.

In 1964 Ds' fantasies, Goldwater would bring on WW3. In 1960s reality, JFK and LBJ ensnared us in the Vietnam War.

In 1980 Ds' fantasies, Reagan would bring on WW3. In 1980s reality, Reagan buried the USSR by rebuilding the US military and bringing the US economy out of Carter's (and Ford's & Nixon's) "malaise".

Why would any sane and aware American buy this re-recycled lie?
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

Sadly there are fewer and fewer of these and more and more who had the common sense educated right out of them.

Such as those described here:  http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/29719/
