If you go far enough right and far enough left...you'll find that their agendas are practically one and the same.
It depends entirely upon your definition of 'Right' and 'Left. The definitions the founding fathers used in their day was to place Anarchy at the far right end of the political spectrum - where the individual has all liberties, and the government can do nothing - and despotism at the far left of the scale - where the government has all authority and the individual can do nothing.
Needless to say those definitions - like so much these days - are radically different from what we "live" today, thanks to the NeoCom redifinition efforts that have gone on since about the 1880s.
