It's true he's been gone for a while, but I for one don't really care; he can stay gone.

Whatever became of The Magistrate???
I see he hasn't posted in about 2 years. I thought he was a hoot.
I think he was quite elderly so I don't know if he's even still alive.

1. People have asked from time to time.
No one seems to know. I hope he is well and that he just got bored with us.

2. I've seen a couple of other posts about him and
so far as I know, nobody on DU has a clue about where he is. He's one of my favorites as well. Hope he's well and comes back soon.

3. He's missed, no doubt about that. His input would have been excellent to see continually.

7. Always a class act, pure in logic and extremely polite
even when met with coarseness.

8. It has been a year or so since he and I last chatted..
He seemed fairly tired of the rancor and seemed happier with his models...

10. No idea. I hope he's okay.
I always liked his posts - what was in them, and the tone of them.

12. Miss him a lot. I always saw him as a Confucian and enjoyed our exchanges.
Whatever you are doing, Sir, I hope it involves cups of rice wine and small exquisitely crafted poems.
>formal bow<
Hmmmm.
I dunno how to put this, but it's obvious the primitives don't know a whole lot about this guy.
It's true he's pretty old; every night when he pitches his tent one day's march nearer the mausoleum, he's got a considerably shorter journey left, than most of us do.
And yeah, he does model airplanes as a hobby.
Now, this primitive, along with the truemud primitive, is one of the two most-dominated primitives on Skins's island. They're Jugs', the BainsBane primitive's, wet dream, being utterly submissive to their wives.
It's no mere coincidence this primitive's wife, who also hangs, or used to hang, on Skins's island, goes by the screen-name "SheWhoMustBeObeyed," or some variation thereof. A very long time ago, I thought that was Skins's wife, but in checking her out, ooops, I was wrong.
But while the truemud primitive's wife uses diapers, pacifiers, and baby-rattles to keep her man in line, TheMagistrate's wife uses leather, whips, chains. He's been beat up badly enough that he's been hospitalized for injuries. But, like stupid women who can't "let go of" their "man," he keeps going back to her for more.
The primitives are going to disbelieve all of this, of course, but as the sane and rational world knows, it's kind of perilous to ignore what franksolich knows about the primitives (and usually from their own lips).
