Can Hillary recover from the character assassination done by Comey?

It now appears that Comey did not have the evidence to call for an indictment against Hillary Clinton but that did not stop him from doing everything he could do to tear her down.

He confused everyone with his damning proclamations. Then, he surmised that there was no "reasonable" prosecutor that would indict her on the charges against her??

Let us hope that the Democrats on the committee, that are holding the hearing this morning, put it all into perspective. He did everything he could do as a partisan Republican to smear and damage the Democrat that is running for the White House.

Forget the integrity. There was none.

Everything I've seen in Social Media have played up the few choice words that Comey used.

"I would have been indicted if this happened"
"Look at what happened to Petraeus. How come the same didn't happen to Hillary"

I am seeing FB posts from people who are usually non-political and the cover of the National Enquirer has CORRUPT! and a picture of Hillary. The cover declares that she was indicted...sort of. Look I know the NE is a joke but everyone who waits in line at the grocery store this week is going to see this.

This reminds me of the OJ trial. Everyone in their right mind knew he did it, but all you need are enough nuts to overlook the evidence and go with their feelings or their revenge mentality and the idiot walks. But as soon as OJ killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, his life was over. Same with Hillary and these emails as far as people trusting her, she just hasn't figured it out yet. May not be enough to keep the whackos from voting for her, but then most people will know that's she's a lying crook and her ability to lead a normal life or to get things to happen will be greatly, greatly diminished. And as crazy as she is, just like OJ, she'll go nutso and start acting out.

Crooked politicians have ascended to the White House often, but we're still here, and we still have the greatest nation on earth. Of course she's a crook, just as it's obvious Trump is a crooked con man. If it ended there, most of us would be strong Trump supporters, but it doesn't end there.

Trump is obviously severely disturbed, with a crippling personality disorder that would pose a yuuge danger if he were ever in a position of real power.

Reasonable Venezuelans probably thought they'd be protected from Hugo Chavez's craziness by the separation of powers in their Constitution. Those powers gradually evaporated, under the weight of presidential decrees, wild populism, and consitutional revisions.

We can easily endure a crooked President. There's no precedent to say whether we can survive a crazy crooked President.

I'm not sure Trump is crazy in the classical sense. Bipolar? Maybe.  Arrogant? Definitely. Presidential material? Probably not.  Would he destroy the country?  Probably not.  One thing I will give Trump credit for is he knows how to play the liberal media and does it better than any one else I have seen. He is beating them at their own game.

Hillary on the other hand is just another corrupt politician with some serious throw weight.  Any other election the GOP would have it sewn up.  This year?  Who knows.
