Emory University Will Use Security Cameras to Track Down Students Who Chalked Trump on Walls


The president of Emory University has spoken to demonstrators who said they were frightened after someone wrote 'Trump 2016' in chalk around campus.

Students at the Atlanta school, which has an enrollment of more than 14,000 claim their 'safe space' was violated when the messages appeared on sidewalks and buildings.

Jim Wagner, president of the Atlanta university, wrote Tuesday that the students viewed the messages as intimidation, and they voiced 'genuine concern and pain' as a result.

He acted after student government wrote to him and slammed the university's response, prompting a meeting that led to protests.

To me this almost qualifies as hate speech. The twerps who did this should be expelled.

4. Yes it is. And one of the pieces of graffiti reads "accept the inevitable: trump 2016" -- this is a carefully crafted message designed to discourage minorities from voting. Whoever is responsible for this should be locked up for the maximum penalty available for malicious vandalism with a hate crime enhancement.

A lot of activists use chalk for this very reason - they can't be charged with a BS crime. A good rain comes along and it's all gone.

This may just come down to a freedom of expression argument, not sure what the rules are at the university, or if there are rules set in place for such a thing. But "Trump 2016," as odious as it sounds to me, is not hate speech, and not intimidating, unless you're very easily intimidated. Like it or not, he's a party front runner, of course he has supporters.

Don't worry, leftists... Barry will soon make it a crime.

DU being an echo chamber, its orthodoxy becomes like secular scripture, "heretics" are "burned", and non-orthodox speech is banned as "hate speech", "racist", "misogynist","Islamophobic", "homophobic", etceteraphobic, according to the context. So, yeah. "reflection" nailed it. DU-folk, accustomed to their hot-house echo chamber, are easily "scared" and "intimidated" by ideas they excised from their minds and lives and don't care to understand.

Because POC always take a walk through the closest college campus on the way to the polls. 

I'm curious to know what Dummy 30Draw (11 posts) thinks is the appropriate punishment for those youths POC who get creative with a rattle can? Youth detention center???

I forgot to comment on this in my post above. Chalk is used by a lot of people. Sidewalk chalk is easily available and inexpensive in toy stores. Children use it in play; trail race organizers who don't want to mar their park trail courses use it (as well as flour).
