Little did I realize that all the other passengers around us were listening to these two Americans who were horrified by drumpf. When we pulled into the station they passed us and said good luck to you two.

It's amazing how Europeans take an interest in the politics of America. Many of them know more about what is going on politically in our country than many Americans living here do.

It doesn't work the other way around. Most Americans don't care about the politics of Europe or the individual countries. It is quite embarrassing.

My explanation:

We have had the worst POTUS in history so people are understandably cynical.  Trump represents people who have had it with the entire political system. He is NOT racist nor sexist nor has he ever said a single word against any race or gender.  If you doubt me, find it (you won't).

Oh, by the way, Euroweenies -- get ready to pay for YOUR OWN FREAKING MILITARY when we elect Trump.  Even Germany will go the way of Greece when we pull out of the EU and let you defend yourselves against Russia and China.  You will envy Venezuela when we do.

Things have changed since my husband left the military. After all the years we spent over seas I only recall one conversation that remotely concerns the US politics.

We were stationed in England and were celebrating the 4th of July (Independence Day).

 The local dignataries and guest were invited. We had a discussion about the Revolutionary war. Then again that was 40 years ago.
